We recently stayed at your hotel for two nights and, unfortunately, the experience fell well short of our expectations for a Novotel property and the standard typically associated with a five-star hotel. Upon check-in, staff provided a large amount of verbal information about the hotel and its services, including various internal phone numbers for different requests. However, no physical or digital reference guide was available in the room or easily accessible online. It is unrealistic to expect guests to retain all of this information immediately upon arrival, particularly when they are trying to settle in. This became particularly evident when I accidentally left my wallet at reception. I found it surprisingly difficult to contact the hotel. There was no clear online communication channel available, and despite several attempts, I was unable to reach the hotel via WhatsApp. Eventually, I had to ask a local resident to call the hotel using the reservation number listed on Google, after which I was transferred to reception. Similarly, when I required assistance with a room issue, I was unable to recall the correct internal number and had to dial a random number on the phone before reaching the appropriate department. The room itself showed clear signs of age and lacked several amenities I would normally expect. Upon arrival, no bathroom amenities were provided. It was only after we requested an extra bed that an amenity pack was supplied. There were also no complimentary coffee sachets in the room, which was surprising given that even lower-tier accommodations in Bali commonly provide this as standard. The bathroom floor was also very slippery, and no slippers were provided. I had to carefully assist my toddler when using the bathroom and was hesitant to use it freely until we purchased slippers from a local supermarket. If sustainability is a consideration behind this choice, I believe a safer alternative should be provided to ensure guest safety. Furthermore, the toilet overflowed on the first morning of our stay, and the toilet seat cover made a very loud noise when closed. In addition, maintenance work in a nearby room created persistent noise during the day, which affected the comfort of our stay. To be fair, there were some positive aspects. The hotel offers several family-friendly features, including the kids’ club, fairy floss, and colouring activities, which our children enjoyed. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory. We were provided with welcome drink vouchers, which we did not use. Usually, a welcome drink should be provided at check-in, which we have commonly experienced at other resorts in Bali. Given the nightly rate of more than AUD 200 and Bali’s strong reputation for hospitality, I expected a significantly higher standard of accommodation, service, and attention to detail than what we experienced. While this stay has now concluded, the experience has also influenced my perception of the Novotel brand more broadly and may affect my future accommodation choices. I would appreciate a response to understand whether these issues reflect the usual service standard of the property or whether our experience was an exception.

For the welcome drink, we would like to kindly clarify that it is served at our Gourmet Bar, located near the pool area. This is part of our guest experience concept, allowing guests to enjoy a more relaxed arrival atmosphere outside the reception area. We are also very sorry to learn about the room condition concerns, bathroom issue, and maintenance noise experienced during your stay. This is not reflective of the standards we aim to maintain, and the relevant departments have been informed to ensure follow-up and corrective action is taken. We truly appreciate your recognition of our family-friendly facilities and breakfast offering, and we are glad these aspects were enjoyed by your family. Great accommodation huge four bedroom apartment and balcony, please be very careful on the balconies as our son nearly went over the balcony off the 4th floor with a broken upright in the balcony timberwork.

It was our 1st time staying at the Novotel and we booked a Luxury Escape. We found the hotel grounds to be good, easy to get around. The food at the restaurant was ok although the evening buffet we felt did always have food that we liked. The staff were friendly and they worked hard to ensure we were comfortable during our stay.

The hotel is foreigner friendly, secured and has sufficient amenities. It is located inside a gated development area with dedicated security personnel. It also has access to local food stalls if you're exploring non-tourist and cheaper options. Try the mom and pop types of restaurants outside the gated area.
