We started our holiday with a night at the Gatwick Sofitel - and treated ourselves to a room with access to the Milliseme lounge. The attentive hostess, Alexandra, made sure that our evening was the perfect start to our break with a range of drinks and canapés.

Stayed in 525 and got bitten. Turned the light on and found a couple of bed bugs that I filmed at about 1.30am. I suppose that’s all it takes. I was not about to search for more. Sofitel have undertaken an “Independent investigation” and have suggested I brought them with me, but they waited until 1.30 to bite me? Or they suggest they were on my luggage, Which was always two feet way from the bed. None of which makes sense. Just want to make others aware of the BED BUGS.

We spent two nights in this hotel - one night prior to our departure and the second upon our return from our holidays. We were upgraded to a club room by EMI Salida, the reception manager because of a problem we had encountered during a previous visit some months back. She certainly showed a gracious corporate response! The club room had a fridge with a variety of complimentary drinks. The club lounge was managed by a vey welcoming member of staff. The light nibbles offered in this club lounge was acceptable but the drinks free flowing! However upon our return, we were disappointed with our room. The body lotion plunger was not working and the shower outlet was blocked. Both of these we reported to the reception next morning. Full English breakfast had good quality sausages and bacon. The staff here were very attentive. Outstanding was Faizal at the front desk who was extremely polite and helpful and in my opinion an asset to this hotel. However, we did encounter a significant issue. We had booked a package which included parking for fifteen nights. Upon return, we discovered a significant crack in the front windshield of our car which we reported to Maple car parking company responsible for storing our car. They denied any responsibility sighting their terms and conditions of parking which stated that they would not be responsible for the repair of such a damage. In essence they denied liability. I don’t think many customers read the entire terms and conditions as much of this is based upon trust and goodwill. Whilst this was Maple car parking’s resonse, our contract was with Sofitel and as such they should reconsider their business association with this parking company.

Modern, comfortable and good value. Would definitely stay again if flying from Gatwick on an early departure

Overall a great stay over . Just a couple of things- I didn’t have any milk capsules for coffee in the room and had to ask and then wait. Body lotion bottle was empty
