Good location, hot room, rude staff

Overall the room was overly hot. We turned the heaters off as soon as we got in and opened the window but the room was too hot overnight. Had a rude encounter with staff when looking to get dinner. The reception said we could sit and get food in the tabled room out side of the restaurant if we wanted. This worked well for us as the restaurant had a murder mystery event on too so we were out of the way. When we asked a waitress, Holly, for some menus to order food, she said the restaurant was full and we needed to have booked. My wife began to explain what Reception had said and Holly rudely cut her off and repeated that we needed to book ahead. When I explained again that we were happy to eat in the room we were in (just outside the bar with tables and chairs) she then said that was fine but we would need to order at the bar. It seems she was just causing a rude fuss for nothing as we said we were happy not to eat inside of the restaurant. She was quite confrontational for no reason. Maybe it was stressful with a Christmas party in one room and the murder mystery and restaurant guests in the restaurant. Later when we had food and were eating she past us by again and said “you got your food then” in a sarcastic tone. Very rude and poor service from just asking for some menus to look at.

Regarding the room temperature, I apologize for the discomfort caused. We understand how important a comfortable environment is, especially for a restful night, and we will address this issue with our facilities team to ensure better temperature control in the future. I’m especially concerned about the interaction you described with our staff. Politeness and attentiveness are core values we uphold, and I sincerely apologize for the rude and confrontational behavior you encountered. We will be addressing this situation with Holly and the rest of our team to ensure better communication and service. It's disappointing to hear that our staff did not provide the helpful and welcoming experience you deserved, especially during a busy time with events. Your comments will be shared with our management team so that appropriate measures can be taken to improve both our customer service training and communication between departments to avoid similar misunderstandings in the future. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. We value your feedback and hope that you will consider giving us another chance to provide you with a better experience.
