Check in was fine. We were told on check in that we wouldn’t be able to eat in the main restaurant as there were two large coach parties booked in that night but that another room had been allocated to us. We were assured that we would be able to eat breakfast in the main restaurant the following day. We were in Studio 300. Bed was comfortable- bathroom not so. The door handle was hard to twist and the shower leaked so the floor got very wet. Toilet seat was loose and the toilet took ages to refill. On going to dinner we were showed into the room allocated along with other residents who were also booked on a Virgin Experience. The room was dark. Despite being a lovely evening the curtains were kept shut the whole time. We ordered our food and were told straight away which items weren’t available. Shortly after ordering I was told that the sea bass had been ordered by other people - there were only 6 available and that it would take hours to prepare another one for me so I chose a vegetable stir fry with an added chicken breast as an extra. Well, apart from about 6 or 8 green beans it was really difficult to find any other veg. The chicken breast was overcooked and crunchy on the edges. The waiter (who was very polite) did ask if he could get me anything else but by this point I was so hungry I didn’t want to wait any longer. I saw “seasonal fruits” on the dessert menu so ordered this. When it came, it was 3 different types or melon- not seasonal to Kent to my knowledge- and for £7.50 an absolute rip off. Next morning we went to breakfast at the time we’d booked for to be told there were no seats available and we were directed outside to basically a corridor: Tables were set up in front of fire exits and ours had a table and chairs outside blocking the exit. Surely this is a health and safety breach? We have had nicer rooms at Travelodges better food at Premier Inns when we have visited restaurants adjacent to them. The only positive thing about this hotel is the staff who were very polite and friendly.

The hotel makes a very good base for exploring gardens in Kent and Sussex; it's very close to the A21 and there is plentiful parking. The room was comfortable and reasonably well lit. Meals in the restaurant were fine the first two nights but the arrival of a tour group appeared to terrify the staff and we felt like an inconvience.

Really enjoyed our 1 night stay. I hoped it would be nice but had never visited before. Lovely room, nice quiet location, excellent food and drink, friendly helpful staff, really pleased with everything.

Extremely welcoming staff at reception. hotel room was very clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and the shower was a joy to use. The restaurant provided a fantastic breakfast with a selection of English and continental breakfasts as well as fruits and cereals. Again, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Email I sent on May 1st but haven’t had a response. Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to make a complaint regarding my recent stay at your hotel on Wednesday 29th. During my stay, I ordered food to my room via your app and was very disappointed with the quality of the meal. The pizza I received did not match the description, as it was missing the herbs and rocket that should have been included. Additionally, the chips were not the chunky style advertised. The pizza itself was extremely bland and, unfortunately, I was unable to eat it. Due to having to leave quickly for an interview, I did not have the opportunity to raise this issue with the front desk at the time. Given the poor quality of the food and the fact that it was not as described, I would like to request a full refund for this order. I would appreciate your prompt response to this matter.
