The Hotel was conveniently situated for what I wanted. Whilst the hotel is near a busy road the room I had was at the back and was quiet. My stay was during the hot spell in June and when I arrived, my room was cool, fan going, & window open so it was very pleasant. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was a bit tired, & perhaps in need of an up-grade, but it was clean & there was everything I needed. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room together with very bottled and canned water, which, given the heat was very welcome indeed. I ate in the restaurant and the staff were very nice and friendly. I had a Chicken Caesar salad which wasn't the best I've ever had as the chicken was a little on the tough side and the dressing a little bit bland, but it was adequate and saved me leaving the hotel in search of an evening meal. The car park was quite large and very close to the reception so not far to drag a suitcase. Fast check in, and out.

We did not have a good experience. The hotel was desperately in need of refurbishing, and areas of the hotel, such as stairway carpets, corridor doors and bedroom chairs and sofas, were dirty. Despite paying for a four night stay in a suite, we were not allowed to sit in the dining room for breakfast as the hotel had a coach party staying and they took priority in the dining room. We were not even allowed to sit with other guests of the wedding we were attending. We were expected to sit in an area away from the dining room were people walked through, and large screen tv’s were playing. Our suite was boiling hot, it was a heat wave, so understandably hot, but cheap fans had been provided which made no difference and the windows could not be opened. After complaining we were given a better fan, and told by a member of staff that the fan we had originally be given were cheap and did not work. We were only there to attend a wedding and we will not return.
