Very noisy bedroom.

Restaurant & bar good. Unfortunately the people in the room above us were extremely noisy up to about 2.00 a.m. - my husband went to reception who did speak to them. Due to this, we felt we couldn't stay for the second night which we had booked & paid for.

Had bought via a package. Didn't eat dinner and were told we could swap it for lunch - when we went to swap it for lunch the next day they had already sent the £50 off to last minute. So I would like a refund for the £50 please. Next, the 'health spa', which felt more like a familial council run down swimming pool - both dirty, old and in need of a major revamp. Ruined our day as this was for a birthday, except we were unsure whether to even use it it was so gross. I look forward to a response.

Reception staff excellent. Waiting staff were ok, but really didn't work that hard, probably could have shifted another 5 bottles of wine and pudding if they had bothered after dinner was served.

A Good Nights Sleep

The hotel is ideal for trips to Tunbridge Wells. It was very quiet and we slept well. Areas of the hotel are very tired and could do with redecoration especially the Spa . Swimming pool was so warm it was a joy but I would have liked to have been told when there were children’s lessons so I could have avoided those times. Not much ambiance in the restaurant but the food was ok and a reasonable choice for vegetarians. Overall a good stay.

The receptionist was lovely when we arrived. The room was nicely decorated and clean apart from behind the windows where there was quite a bit of mould on the window frames. We could not open the windows they seemed to be stuck. The room was really quiet and the bed was comfy with plenty of tea and coffee. What really let the hotel down was the horrible swimming pool. The changing room smelt of damp there were old towels on the floor. No bags for wet swimming costumes and a hairdryer that didn't work. Getting into the pool on a wobbly ladder was dangerous. There were old plasters floating about in the pool. The side of the pool was filthy with thick dirt all round the edges it was disgusting we got out pretty quickly it was so revolting we then had to get changed in dirty changing room.

Restaurant staff very willing and friendly. Restaurant meal good value. Bed linen clean and bed comfortable. Toiletries adequate. Hospitality tray difficult to use due to lack of space. Accessible room 110 rather tired and in need of repainting/updating, carpets smelled unclean nearest to window, bathroom sink rather blocked and toilet reluctant to flush.

Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Disappointed with the pool depth being 1.5mtr (no shallow end for non swimmers or short people) No Jacuzzi also.

Room comfortable and staff friendly and efficient. All was well until checkout when there was a problem over the bill. We had food items that we had not ordered and there was no record of £110 which had been paid on my card at check in to cover bar charges etc. I queried the bill with Cathy who dealt with our checkout, but there were problems over the £110 which she could not resolve. We had to attend a funeral and arranged to return later in the day when a manager would be present. On our return the relevant paperwork had been found and the matter was settled to our satisfaction.
