Unfortunately, this stay fell well below what I would expect from a Sofitel. The experience started poorly on arrival. There was nobody at the entrance to assist, so I drove down to the parking area, only to find there was no space available. When we eventually checked in at around 3:30pm, our room was still not ready. The alternative offered was a smoking room, despite us travelling with our three-year-old son, which I found quite surprising. As we had to continue waiting for the room, I eventually had to ask myself whether we could at least have a complimentary drink while we waited, rather than any gesture being offered proactively. The room itself showed clear signs of age and, more importantly, a lack of attention to maintenance and detail. There were only three clothes hangers, no iron, the spare pillow was completely yellow, there were stains on the ceiling, the bedside lamps had different coloured light bulbs, and the mattress was bulging. In the bathroom, the switch between the rain shower and handheld shower was not working properly, so the rain shower was the only option. Breakfast was acceptable and understandably somewhat localised, which is perfectly fine. However, an international luxury brand should still maintain certain Sofitel fundamentals. The bread and bakery selection was good, but I found the hot breakfast offering disappointing. The restaurant itself also lacks atmosphere and design, it feels more like a large open space where tables and furniture have simply been placed rather than a carefully designed luxury hotel restaurant. The minibar was another small example of the overall experience. It contained little more than Fanta, Coke and juice. Either provide a properly stocked minibar consistent with the hotel positioning, or simply don't have one. Overall, this feels like a hotel that was probably impressive and luxurious when it first opened, but has not been maintained or refreshed to the level required over the years. The service throughout the stay was average rather than poor, but "average" is simply not the standard I associate with Sofitel. The property has potential, particularly because of its location, but it currently needs significant attention to maintenance, product quality, presentation and service standards before I could consider it representative of the Sofitel brand.

A 5-star hotel is false advertising. The Wi-Fi is poor and slow, and I can't use it for work or entertainment. The room has outdated technology. For example, the TV isn't smart, so you can’t use your streaming accounts. Other guests smoke on a non-smoking floor and cook, and the smell invades your room. Housekeeping is bothered when you ask for help. Breakfast is below average and limited (a 5-star hotel without a proper coffee machine for example).

We had a truly wonderful stay at the hotel, and what made our experience especially memorable was the outstanding hospitality from the team. A special thank you to Mr. Mohammad Al Salem, the manager, for his professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. He made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. I would also like to give a special mention to Randa at reception, who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She greeted us with a lovely attitude and was always ready to assist whenever we needed anything. The staff’s warmth and excellent service really made a difference. We felt comfortable and valued as guests, and that is something we truly appreciate. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable. We would happily come back again and highly recommend this hotel

My experience during checkout was extremely disappointing and frustrating. While I was checking out, I was informed that I had been charged more than I should have been. After a very long discussion and waiting, I was told that the refund could not be processed through the same payment method, which was my credit card. I was initially asked to provide my full 16-digit credit card number and expiration date. Naturally, I questioned how the hotel would ensure that my card details would remain secure. The response I received was simply that I should trust the hotel. I specifically asked whether the payment could be cancelled or the refund processed directly through the POS machine. I was told that this was impossible. After approximately 45 minutes of discussion, I was eventually asked to provide only the last four digits of my card. I considered this a more secure approach, provided the information, and signed the required document. However, approximately three hours after leaving the hotel, I received a phone call informing me that the refund could not be processed with only this information. I had to stop what I was doing, interrupt an important meeting, and return to the hotel. When I returned, I was greeted by the team leader, who appeared visibly upset. We went through essentially the same discussion again. Eventually, I was asked to wait another 15 minutes for someone from Finance/Accounts. The Finance representative then took the POS machine, processed the refund directly through the device, and provided me with the refund receipt, which I signed. This was particularly frustrating because the solution was ultimately very simple and could have been completed at checkout. I had specifically suggested processing the refund through the POS machine earlier that morning, but this option was dismissed. Due to the lack of ownership, poor communication, and inefficient handling of the situation, I wasted approximately two hours, had to leave a meeting in the middle, and had to significantly disrupt my entire day’s schedule. I would strongly recommend reviewing the team’s knowledge, authority, and procedures for handling payment corrections and refunds. Guests should not be given conflicting information, asked to provide sensitive card information unnecessarily, and then required to return to the hotel because the initially provided solution was not sufficient. In addition, the hotel’s internet speed was very poor and caused significant problems while I was attending online meetings. For a business traveler, reliable and fast internet is an essential service. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and far below what I would expect from Sofitel. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and uses it to improve the team’s processes, communication, and customer service. I will also share my experience with my colleagues so they can be aware of the difficulties I encountered during my stay.

I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with a different menu offered each day, which added variety and freshness to the experience. The location is outstanding, with an uninterrupted sea view and nothing between the hotel and the beach. The only area that could be improved is the fitness center, which would benefit from upgraded equipment and facilities

Very disappointed with my stay. Steam room was out of service, and the bathtub had red, contaminated water—completely unacceptable. Mr. Mahmood in the Recreation area showed a poor attitude on Friday morning. On the positive side, the room boy and valet parking staff provided excellent service. First, the All Accor app rate is lower than the amount i paid at the reception Second, the receptionist informed me that the pool is not opened but when we visited the gym, the attendant told us that it is open. Third, there is no luggage stool available at the room. We need to call the reception to provide us one. Fourth, my accommodation includes breakfast but the room number was not listed there. The attendant tried to reach the reception to check but no one answered so i went up to my room to call the reception for double checking. Fifth, the towel is not availble at the dressing room (pool side) because the laundry was busy to deliver it to the fitness center so the attendant went there to pick it up. Sixth, the soap, shampoo, or conditioner are provided in a limited and small amount only, not like the other hotels i've been. The worst part, in the fitness center shower room, it is not even available. IHG hotels are far more better (even their 3 star hotel).
