I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at Sofitel Al Khobar. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained, with excellent attention to detail. The overall ambience of the hotel gives a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The highlight of my stay was definitely the breakfast — it was excellent. A wide variety of fresh options, high-quality ingredients, and very courteous staff made the morning experience truly enjoyable. The service throughout the hotel was professional and welcoming. I would highly recommend Sofitel Al Khobar for both business and family stays, and I look forward to visiting again.

totally outdated hotel, opera suite is a broken room, bathroom cold and dump, windows haven’t been cleaned for months. Executive lounge had almost no food and drinks to offer. How can this place carry the brand of Sofitel?

Very bad check-in experience: we were asked to pay for the stay even though I had already paid when booking online. The lady disappeared for 20 minutes, then came back, didn’t apologise or explain and just gave me the room keys without any further comments. Bad experience at the lounge: access denied at the lounge and again very unfriendly und unprofessional behaviour. When entering, the employee just said „no, you don’t have access“ even though I have a status and know that I have access. He didn’t offer to check, didn’t apologise etc. Late and bad house keeping: house keeping arrived around 4pm on our first day. I dropped an edamame and it was still there on our last day, so no proper cleaning happened in between. We were also left with a very small amount of towels (two big and one small for two guests) and had to actively ask for additional towels. Face towels were not provided in general. Rooms outdated/not a lot of storage: the wardrobe was a joke, only one hanger and in general no space. Fridge was not connected to electricity so we couldn’t use it Bad service overall: I tried calling reception multiple times but no one answered. I left a bad review on Google Maps on day 1 about our check in experience and while we were still at the hotel, the hotel liked the post. No further action. No apology. Apart from this the service was just really bad, comparable to 2/3* hotels in the region. Not on par at all with other 5* hotels in Khobar and Saudi Arabia (I stayed at the Ritz, Le Meridien, JW, Intercontinental).
