I stayed at this hotel recently and while there were some standout positives, a few issues kept it from being a fully comfortable experience. First, the good: the location of the hotel is incredibly convenient and easy to navigate to and from several main attractions. The close proximity to Seef Mall and Dana Mall are what initially drew me to this particular hotel. This isn’t my first stay at an Ibis so I had incredibly high hopes that my stay would be just as exceptional as the location. However, this hotel in particular is in serious need of updates, especially when it comes to technology and bedding. The pillows were so thick that I genuinely wondered if two had been stuffed into one case. They offered no support, just bulk and a sore neck in the morning. The tech situation was even more frustrating. While I appreciate the built-in USB ports, they’re dated with only standard USB; while most modern hotels now provide USB-C. My biggest issue was the TV setup. It was completely incompatible with Apple products. Neither my iPhone nor my iPad could connect or screen-mirror, and with only two English-language channels worth watching, I ended up relying on my tiny 13 mini phone screen as my main source of entertainment. In 2025, that really shouldn’t be the case. Outside the room, the parking garage deserves a mention. A car-detail company could make a fortune with stationed on site. Every turn felt like a close call. Tight corners on every level made navigating the garage feel like threading a needle. Large vehicles, be warned. Maybe this is simply an older property and the outdated amenities reflect that. But based on my stay, I’ll likely consider a different hotel chain during my next visit.
