Not what I would expect from Mercure brand, especially in France. Hotel is very dated, rooms re small, AC doesn't work, it was extremely hot at night. Staff was friendly and hotel seemed clean, just didn't feel like 4* hotel

We were surprised not to have our Passe Sanitaire checked on arrival. There was no heating in the corridors and the heating in the room had not been turned on. It was therefore very cold in the room for the first hour

Good room, bad food

I have stayed in a lot of Accor hotels, mostly Mercure and Novotels - for this hotel it had a good room, the staff were very nice but the food was awful. I ordered room service and received 2 bowls of something that resembled dog food. The hotel is worth staying at, but not to eat at.

Well located but overall experience dry disappointing

Very disappointed with our stay. On arrival did not receive priority welcome or welcome drink as Silver Status members, even though at reception there is a notice advertising this. Also asked if we would like our room cleaned during our stay, which we found bizarre, but due to Covid decided cleaning wasn’t necessary as only staying for 3 nights, but requested clean towels everyday, which were supplied. However we did not realise that this would mean the rubbish bins would not be emptied and the complimentary coffee and cups would not be replenished. My husband had to visit reception every day to request these and even had to ask for a toilet roll as the one in the bathroom when we arrived was only a third full. Also found the staff on reception very uninterested in us as guests. We have stayed in many Mercure Hotels and never had a problem, will not stay in the Mercure Beziers again and will not recommend.

A present to the hotel how, perfectly located in the torn of Beziers. Rooms was small but perfectly adequate. Parking was available, need to be booked in advance which was a requirement that was difficult to spot on the hotel website unless you are careful.

Didn't start well when I was told that my booking had been cancelled as the payment had not gone through. Sadly I hadn't been informed of this. Fortunately the hotel was not too busy and I paid and stayed.

Standard rooms cramped and smaller than I would expect from a Mercure

Normally, I would have been upgraded to a better room, but at the time, there was high demand. With good intentions, the staff initially alocated me a "standard" room in the newer part of the building, which had more modern decor. In the event, I asked to see one of the normal standard rooms, and I concluded that it was more suitable. In both cases, floor space was at a premium. The older standard rooms have the saving grace of having some shelf space both in the bedroom and the bathroom. This means you have somewhere to put those odds and ends that you frequently use..The standard room and bathroom strike me as being the same size as a red Ibis hotel room. The bathroom might even be smaller. However, the presence of adequate shelf space made a big difference. In order to free up floor space so that I had somewhere to open up my suitcase, it was necessary to eject a surpus chair which served no useful purpose. The hotel staff told me to just leave the chair outside my door. About 2 days later, I noticed that there were 4 or 5 similar chairs stacked at the end of the coridor, so it appears that other hotel guests came to the same conclusion about the chair as myself. The hotel has a breakfast area but does not have its own restaurant. There are chinese, japanese restaurants and a kebab bar within very short waking distance. At the top of the hill, there are more restaurants in Place Jean Jaures. The hotel has its own parking garage, which is charged for. Vehicle access is easy. You need your room key to drive in and out. The only problem is getting the elevator to go down to the garage. You need to stick your key into a card reader to select the garage. Unfortunately the card reader in the elevator was somewhat hit and miss while I was there. I complained about it many times. Hopefully they have doe something about it by now, The hotel reception staff were as helpful as they could possibly be. I don't think I would come to this hotel again, unless they gave me a room upgrade. In my opinion, the rooms suffer the same problem as red Ibis rooms. They are too small for double occupancy, unless 2 people are sharing 1 suitcase. The situation is, however, mitigated by the provision of shelf space..

Central location good, good quality hotel, useful under hotel carpark, but with difficult access

Having chosen a privilege room for extra space, we were slightly puzzled by the strange layout as it was impossibble to get from the separate toilet to the bathroom when the wardrobe doors were open! Given the current sanitary requirements to eat in our rooms, the work surface / table provided for this was very narrow, and difficult for two normal sized people to eat at together. The bathroom / toilet fan did not turn off when not in use, and stayed on all night, greatly disturbing our sleep. Car park access is steep, narrow, with sharp turns, best suited to small, low cars. Overheight cars would not be able to use the underground parking. Mercure wifi not strong enough to use inour room, but the IBIS hotel wifi (adjacent or underneath our room) was full strength, and since neither were password protected I used that instead.

Good central location, comfortable well designed accommodation (some rooms have recently been refurbished). On site secure covered parking plus I felt safe with the enhanced hygiene arrangements and room service food offering.
