The power went out for 45.minutes during the afternoon... No contact at all from staff. Loud generator (?) started outside our room at approximately 11:30pm and continued all night. The pipe under the bathroom sink was leaking, I was very concerned that my husband or I would slip on the wet floor. We were served a glass of wine in the restaurant in a glass that was soapy. Wine was replaced. The staff at reception were very polite and helpful, they were so quietly spoken that we actually couldn't hear them.

Months ago when I booked I asked for one of the rooms in the old part of the hotel. When I arrived I had been 'upgraded' to a larger two-level room in the newer part. Whilst it was nice to have more space it was not as convenient or comfortable as the old rooms for us. Next time we stay I hope we can get the requested room. Thanks.

Mercure Canberra would have to be one of the best Pet Friendly Hotels in the Accor network. Love the size of the pet friendly rooms with private courtyards. In addition the dog portraits in the lounge and the actual dog friendly indoor areas is highly commendable. Secured onsite parking was at a very modest cost, which was very useful for our stay. The F&B offering at the I house bistro for dinner was good quality and moderately priced. Small areas for improvement is the shower heads in rooms are still old antiquated devices, that could easily be replaced with more modern shower heads. Breakfast is mediocre at best with decent quality hot food items, but a lacklustre continental offering. If breakfast was not included, I certainly would have breakfast elsewhere, with service levels very much lacking particularly on Weekends. Needless to say Mercure Canberra was a solid stay and we would definitely return I. The future with doggo’s in tow.

My room was clean although the smell of bleach was quite strong and lingered for a while. The hotel is well located. The biggest issue I had was my room was next to a conference room which began set up at 9.30pm as I was trying to sleep, it continued for about 30 minutes. Setup then commenced again at 7am in the morning. It was loud and disruptive and for that reason alone I would not recommend the hotel.

The heating in my room was not working and it was very cold. Unfortunately, I was very tired in the evening and did not want to spend time complaining, so I just went to bed and snuggled in. Showering and getting dressed in the morning was very cold. When checking out, I mentioned it and was told a technician will have a look (no apology, nothing). I would have at least expected an apology or a little discount.

We were upgraded to a loft room. Nice but soooo helpful. I am a type 1 diabetic and to be able to cntinue my routine for breakfast was made perfect by the availability of a small kitchen with all the necessary items. I will certainly choose this option, next time I stay

Very pleased with the room and grateful for the upgrade. The room was accessible, instructions were clear from staff on how to get there, check in and checkout was very simple and straightforward. The bed was comfortable and clean and room service was enjoyable and prompt. The only reason for the lower than 10 rating was just the lamp on the left hand side was not working (flickered after being on for a few seconds) and the kettle was a bit dirty, so I had to rinse it out a few times to be able to use it.

I arrived around 9pm and was "upgraded" to a King room from the Queen room, I'd booked. It was 307 from memory. The room was an accessible room and had I realised this I would have declined the "upgrade". This wasn't made clear to me at reception. The hotel is very dated. The rooms are also very dated. I usually stay at the QT in Canberra but the Mercure was closer to where I needed to be.

During our recent stay at the Mercure, we found the motel to be clean and well‑maintained, and the staff consistently courteous and helpful throughout our visit. Their professionalism was appreciated. However, there were a couple of issues that affected our overall experience. The shower struggled to maintain a constant temperature, which made it difficult to use comfortably. Additionally, each morning the bacon at breakfast was served cold, and despite informing staff daily, the issue continued. While the property and staff were pleasant, addressing these concerns would greatly improve the guest experience.
