My stay was absolutely wonderful for the most part, it is a stock standard ibis Budget, the reception staff were very polite, the bed was super comfy although you could tell the mattress was lopsided and probably needed replacing, it was comfortable enough, the aircon unit appeared to be very old and had a sticker on it which looks like it used to be at a hotel in Adelaide which makes sense as that property was very old, so it didn’t work amazingly but was fine. The room was clean, it was in a quiet area and there was not a lot of noise from the road or any other guests. Although if you are relying on public transport just take in mind it isn’t very consistent on the weekends. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area as I think specifically this ibis Budget provided great value for money and was significantly better than some other locations in other cities.

Hi Jett, Thank you very much for your kind and detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you had an excellent stay with us and that you found our team polite, the room clean, and the bed comfortable. It’s also great to know that you appreciated the quiet location and felt that the hotel offered good value for money compared to other locations. We appreciate your honest comments regarding the mattress and air conditioning unit. Your feedback is very helpful, and we will certainly share it with our maintenance team as we continue to improve our facilities and guest comfort. Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us. We’re pleased to hear that you would stay again, and we look forward to welcoming you back whenever you’re in the area. 😊 Kind Regards, Avash Assistant Manager Ibis Budget Canberra

Johannes L. C. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

Hannah was nice, friendly, and helpful. Otherwise the bathroom was disgusting, outside are drug users doing drugs.

Hi Johannes, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations, particularly regarding cleanliness and noise. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and your comments have been shared with our housekeeping team so they can review and address these concerns immediately. We do appreciate your kind words about Hannah — we’ll be sure to pass your compliments on to her, as she will be pleased to know she made a positive impression. Regarding activity outside the property, guest safety and comfort are very important to us. While we cannot always control behaviour in public areas, we do work closely with local authorities and encourage guests to notify reception at any time so we can take appropriate action when concerns arise. Your feedback is valuable and helps us identify areas where we need to improve. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Kind Regards, Avash Assistant Manager Ibis Budget Canberra

When we arrived the first couple of people we see look like they are on some type of drug or drunk . We realised very quickly it’s a shared accomodation with permanent and non permanent residents. We check in with a non interested man darkish complexion possibly from Indian decent for description purposes. We go to our room which is very underwhelming small and odd in layout but we understand now if you pay $105 per night your getting good value your getting a very low budget motel. In the room is left out of date long life milk not all but some of the 6 containers. When we get to bed the bed is reasonably comfortable which is nice , we were awoken by the yelling and banging of a drunk or extremely high man who could not open his door screaming and yelling banging very early in the morning approximately 4am . After several minutes it goes quiet then a few minutes later it starts again so that made us awake but still very tired. On our way out for that day I approach the same man who was there on arrival who making his breakfast and annoyed that he had to stop stirring his cereal by saying to us drop the key in the box ?? I said we are here for 4 nights (he only checked us in the afternoon before so he obviously takes no interest in his customers) I began to explain the situation of the man banging and yelling he pretended to be surprised and dismissive before another man herd our conversation and said it’s true he also herd the commotion. Your employee was still keen to get back to his breakfast could not care less. I asked him also to replace our coffee and milk please and can we have clean towels. Yes I’ll organise the said. We get back later that afternoon no coffee no new towels or milk . It seems it’s definitely not comfort your trying to provide for customers only money. If you are happy with the type of person you leave at your front counter to greet new customers like that it’s obviously not high on your list of priorities to have repeat customers. The next morning a lady of Asian decent greeted me at the counter when I approached for the replacement coffee sugar milk and towels, this lady is the type of person you want at the front counter she was very helpful and I told her about the man she apologised and gave me all the items the man was unable to find. When we leave that morning there was a man peering through someone’s window and two drunk or drug effected men laughing and carrying on in the allotted smoking area you provide the laughing part I encourage so just your area nearly in front of your entrance could be better thought out . The two men were definitely on or effected by some type of alcohol or drugs. We sheepishly walked past them wondering if we going to be yelled at or attacked but all good no interaction . That day we received two phone calls from your cleaning staff a lady or 2 ladies from the two calls asking about if we would like our beds changed they or the lady was very helpful and we appreciated the offer very much thankyou. When we got back to our room it was tidy and all coffee and sugar milk replaced and had new towels which is appreciated. The next two days the underwhelming man was back at the counter on the phone all the time not once did he say a word to us . I don’t know how much you pay him ? My guess free rent because he doesn’t care about the business at all you would be better off paying someone who cares about your business. In my experience with customers the first response is always the one that sticks in your mind and he is not what you want people to remember I can assure you. At the event we came to attend we as a group of different exhibitors we gather to talk about our day etc general chit chat and we were asked where we were staying and we told them. We then told them of our experience with Ibis budget and unfortunately for your company you lost a potential client straight away because thier daughter was looking to book in there with her daughter and I said it’s no place for children. I was only telling the truth. Would I ever want to stay with your business again? Probably not

Hi Jason, Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about your stay. We are very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the service at reception, the noise disturbance during the night, and the delay in receiving requested room items. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide. We would like to clarify that on the morning you approached reception, the staff member present was assisting the team outside of his scheduled shift and had passed your request for towels, milk, and coffee to fellow staff. Unfortunately, this was not actioned in a timely manner, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused. We also appreciate your kind comments about our other team members, and we will be sure to share your feedback with them. Your concerns regarding guest behaviour and the smoking area near the entrance have been noted and will be reviewed by management, as guest comfort and safety are very important to us. We regret that your stay was impacted and that your overall impression of our service was not positive. Your feedback has been taken seriously and will be used to improve communication and service consistency across our team. Should you choose to stay with us again in the future, we will ensure your experience is smooth and free from any inconvenience. 😊 Kind Regards, Abhash Assistant Manager Ibis Budget Canberra
