We came back to our room after a day out to find cockroaches crawling everywhere. There was nowhere to put your dirty dishes after the breakfast, and the breakfast fruit tasted sticky, so I didn't eat it. I know it's a budget hotel, but ewww...

Finding cockroaches in the room is understandably distressing and not the experience we want any guest to have. This has been escalated to our pest control and housekeeping teams for immediate attention. We also apologise for the confusion around where to place used breakfast dishes and for the condition of the fruit at breakfast, which is certainly not acceptable. Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams to ensure better hygiene standards and clearer arrangements moving forward. The first room had a never ending buzzing sound and vibration from a nearby air conditioner. The staff member was courteous and changed my room, despite the same one not being available, it was okay. The second room had a bunk on-top and unfortunately the base of the bunk was unclean and had old dirt and grime built up on it. The shower was almost non-functional and only delivered water via one small centre jet which made it difficult to shower. The bed was sunk in the middle almost creating a crest to sleep on. Overall, In future I’ll definitely be spending the extra to avoid Ibis hotels. Not an enjoyable or peaceful experience, unfortunately. A let down, even considering the “budget” nature of the hotel.
