The seaside resorts of Kijkduin and Scheveningen are close to the hotel, only 10 minutes travel with public transport or car. The Madurodam miniature park and Omniversum movie theatre are within walking distance and the city centre is also easily accessible by public transport and has many highlights to explore.

If you are in The Hague, we urge you to visit the Mauritshuis, the Knight's Hall at the Binnenhof and the Panorama Mesdag. When visiting the city with children, a trip to Madurodam is a fun day out. The beach can be reached in 10 minutes by tram or car. Our hotel is ideally located in the Statenkwartier of the 'Court City'. The Gemeente Museum and Museon are within walking distance of the hotel. For a relaxing walk or picnic, the nearby recreation area 'de Scheveningse Bosjes' is the place to be.

The hotel is easy to reach both by car and public transport. Within minutes you can be on the A12 highway. There are numerous tram stations surrounding the hotel which will get you either to the city centre or to the beach.

The staff were excellent throughout our stay—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We also really appreciated how accommodating the hotel was for both babies and pets. The room itself was comfortable, but only barely. We had the air conditioning set to its lowest temperature with the fan running continuously at its highest setting, and while the room remained acceptable, it never became truly cool. At those settings, I would expect to have to lower the power of the air conditioning or put it on automatic after a while. Instead, we had to keep the blackout curtains closed throughout the day so the room wouldn't become uncomfortably warm from the sunlight. We managed, but the hotel's climate control system is not performing adequately even in the guest rooms. It's simply not acceptable that we had to shut our room off from the outside world - losing the natural light and what would otherwise have been a wonderful view - just to maintain a (barely) comfortable temperature. This was particularly disappointing during a family stay, when you want to be able to enjoy being in your room rather than keeping it permanently dark. The common areas were a bigger disappointment during the heatwave. The glass elevators have no air conditioning, making them unbearably hot. The large glass wall enclosing the elevator bank radiates heat into the hallways on every floor, making even waiting for the elevator uncomfortable. The lobby and bar areas were also not properly cooled. This made it difficult to spend time outside the room, especially for the baby. When you stay at a hotel during extreme heat, you need comfortable shared spaces to relax in beyond your room. Novotel didn't deliver on this. What is most surprising is that a large international chain like Novotel still hasn't figured out how to properly air-condition its rooms and especially its public spaces. In 2026, guests should be able to expect a consistently comfortable environment throughout the hotel, not just in their rooms. This is something that really needs to be addressed.
