Clean. Restful. City hotel nest beach. Although clean long black hair on floor of bathroom. Sheets and bedding crisp clean. Room normal for European. Will check breakfast out assuming it’s nothing short of amazing. Here a few days with family.

We booked a family room for the first weekend of the Dutch school summer vacation. We arrived in the afternoon to find the hotel in chaos - we were given a key to our room; we opened the door to a room already occupied; we went back to reception, were given another room; same thing; we went back to reception, and after some waiting we finally got an empty room. Needless to say, this was not made up for a family (the sofa bed was still a sofa, though clearly a badly broken sofa, with a bar protruding through the seats, and when made into a bed, it had gaps between the three sections of the bed). Breakfast was included in our rate - the sign outside the hotel reads "from 4am to midday"; we were told it was 7am-11am; we found that, attempting to eat at around 9:30 it was badly under-staffed and under-supplied - no fruit, no plates, most elements at the buffet running out. Additionally, once of the two elevators was out of commission, meaning it was usually faster and easier to take the stairs, even up to the fourth floor. At the end of our stay, our breakfast was reimbursed (four people for two days, for a total of 50 EUR), which was appreciated. However, it was clear that the hotel was not at all prepared for what should have been expected to be a very busy weekend.

We only stayed briefly but the hotel was good. Our stay was disturbed by the workmen renovating and I felt the reception could have wanted us to expect loud noise directly from 8am. Why did they HAVE to start so early and also why did they need 4-5 vans parked out front? The hotel manager could have organised that better

The staff is very nice and friendly, but not always very efficient. On the day of my arrival I reported that the safe was not working (Low battery), I was told a technician would come and solve it. Nothing was done. Every day I was told the same and when I left 4 days later, nothing had been done. I had paid on arrival, but had to leave 1 day earlier than planned. I am still waiting for the refund of that day. Finally, giving invoices that do not bear the logo or letterhear of Ibis is not professional. Anyone could make a similar invoice. I think my days at Ibis Scheveningen are over!
