We had a very pleasant stay at the Mercure Hotel Düsseldorf City Center. My advice to future guests would be not to let the surrounding neighborhood distract you from what the hotel itself has to offer. Once inside, I found the hotel to be quiet, quaint, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The property does show its age in some areas and could certainly benefit from some updating and modernization. Normally, that might have led me toward a four-star rating. However, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, along with the cleanliness of the hotel, made a significant difference and earned the extra star. The location was also a major plus. There are numerous restaurants and food options within easy walking distance, making it very convenient to find something to eat without having to travel far. Overall, the hotel met our needs very well. It may not be the newest or most modern property, but it was clean, quiet, comfortable, conveniently located, and supported by a wonderful staff. I would gladly stay here again.

I just have to say this hotel has an amazing location — it’s super convenient, with really easy access to public transport. For a four-star hotel, the breakfast is frankly disappointing and falls well below expectations. The selection is rather limited, and serving Category 2 eggs is particularly unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. For a four-star establishment, I would expect much better attention to the quality and sourcing of the food. Overall, the breakfast simply does not live up to the four-star rating.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, especially considering it is a budget option in the city center. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the station, making it easy to get around. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, which made us feel taken care of. Our double room was surprisingly spacious. The room was clean and comfortable, although it is clear that the hotel is older and would benefit from some renovation. The bathroom was quite small. The shower itself worked well and was perfectly functional, the details in the corners and smaller areas showed the age of the building. The room also had a slightly musty smell, likely due to the old carpet, which is something that could be improved with an update. Overall, this hotel offers good value for travelers on a budget who prioritize location, space, and friendly service over modern facilities. With some renovations, it could become an even better place to stay. Because of this it was a bit under my expectations for a Mercure.
