A wonderful welcome from Gedeon Mbunga. The whole team is welcoming, helpful,perfect. Lifts to all floors. Room very nice. Plenty of storage space. Very clean. Excellent bathroom. Plenty of electric sockets. In-house bicycle storage. Ideal location in the centre very close to the main bus stops. Highly recommended.

I'm pleased with my stay, rooms are cozy, I like the fact that you have a vending machine and a coffee machine downstairs if you crave for a fresh drink, a beer or a coffee at any moment. Location is both great (central, shopping streets at the back, lots of food options around, easy to reach, large avenue, 15 minutes walk from train station) and bad (the main avenue at the front is growing quite shabby) at the same time. Reception available 24/7 rather than those cold dehumanized places you unlock via a code and never actually meet anyone on staff. TVs could use a refresh for a hotel of that reputation, in particular in this day and age many hotels offer TVs with Netflix or at least screen mirroring capability. There isn't much to do in the evening in a hotel room, except go out for dinner, so being able to watch shows on a bigger screen than your phone/tablet could help pass time. Not a huge gripe though. And rooms are relatively well equipped nonetheless. Overall, it's a nice cozy hotel and I recommend.

The good: very large window on the top floor, location walking distance to cathedral, restaurants, and shopping. Staff was very accomodating moving us away from stree-side views (see why below). The less good: lots of brown in the room and looking past its best. The positively bad: night-time economy at work on the streets (sex and drugs); okay during the day. The external parking is (confusingly) behind the Merkur 'spielothek' (more sex and drugs, also broken car windscreens on the ground). Best if you secure a parking space below ground in the hotel. Staff are super, so do speak to them, they are ready to help you have the best possible stay.

Positive: The hotel staff were warm, friendly and helpful. They made the stay better than it would have been. The location is convenient and good. Negative: Parking is away from hotel and comes at not-so-low extra costs. No fridge in the room. Our room on the 6th floor was so cold that we had to require a change. There was something wrong with the hot/cold water in the shower as well: no cold water so it was burning hot. For 160 Euros per night, one could expect more.
