We recently stayed at the Ibis Amsterdam City West. The location was excellent, with good transport links into the city, and the room itself was clean, comfortable, and well presented. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by a few significant issues. The room had no air conditioning, which made it very warm. Opening the window wasn’t really an option because there was a swarm of mosquitoes in the room, and we were bitten throughout the night, making it very difficult to sleep. There was also a leak in the corridor outside our room, which had clearly created a maintenance issue. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it in terms of location and the quality of the rooms, but the lack of air conditioning and the mosquito problem had a major impact on our stay. With better pest control and maintenance, this could have been a much more enjoyable experience.
