This was our first time staying at the Novotel for MCM comic con weekend. Our room was still very dirty, the floor had black stains on them, the shower door handle was coming loose and the room as a whole seemed like it needed more attention. On both the Saturday and Monday we had to evict silverfish bugs from our bath which indicates that there was a mould problem and we heard from other people that were staying there that they were rejected when asked for extra toilet paper which seems daft as that is a basic necessity. When my friend went to ask for water one evening during our photoshoot, the staff member who spoke to him was extremely rude and dismissive. I understand it was the Sunday evening and the afterparty was underway but that is not excuse for being rude to a paying customer. Overall was not a great first impression, especially for the price we paid for the room, will most likely avoid coming back to this hotel when MCM is back or any other comic con events in the area appear.

The hotel is perfectly located for events at the ExCel, being a two minute walk from the entry. The staff are friendly — especially the breakfast crew! — with great options for what you need. The rooms are nice and dark, however the beds are quite firm which was a challenge for me.

I stayed in this hotel because of its close proximity to Excel. In the daytime it is perfectly fine but after dark as a solo woman traveller I didn’t feel safe. First of all a lot of people hang around outside the hotel after dark and someone who is street wise I have straight away tightened my bag strap and walked in the hotel on full alert. One evening this young guy followed me in with both his hands elbow deep down in the front of his jogging bottoms. He followed me in close and loitered while I called the lift. I didn’t feel safe getting into the lift with him and asked him what he wants. He said he is looking for someone so I said why don’t you go up the stairs maybe they are there. He started walking up and I got into the lift alone. When I got upstairs I noticed he was hiding behind one of the wall panels then quickly ran off. I alerted reception and the lady was wonderful but I have seen no security staff available. I was advised they only have one person who needs to patrol the whole building so he can be far away from the downstairs foyer which has no other people there. I also overheard a guest on the reception raising that someone entered his room at 2am. It made me put a chair against my door. The staff was lovely, the room was clean. Breakfast is average. You can get the same in Premier Inn. Coffee is absolutely terrible. Taste like as of the burnt beans never been cleaned out. Another part I found disconcerting is the forced google review cards every single staff member at every single opportunity pushes at the guests. Some are very vocal how absolutely necessary and important it is that they get good reviews. It made me wonder if they have to do this because staff is too easily replaced so they are at fear of losing their jobs.

Great stay as always especially when so busy. Though frustrating to ask and be given a late check out for the key card to stop working at 12 and then the cleaner enter the room twice - the second time I’d put the do not disturb sign up. Room was not as clean as usual plenty of dust under the cupboards and stained rug.

I have everything I need in this hotel. Staff at the customer desk are extra nice and helpful. There were some minor things like there was no powder milk or cream in the room which I like to drink in my coffee) and the room phone was not working I could not call the staff for any requests. However when I go down to speak with anyone at the desk, they were always accommodating! Overall, excellent customer service at the reception desk! This hotel is clean, very nice. Room and bathroom are updated with modern features such as glass shower doors, newer bathroom tiles and toilet, and lights and lamps are plenty!

The hotel was really nice, the staff were amazing and welcoming, the only problem I would say is that due to roadworks we had to park in excel carpark but we had not been notified that roadworks will be happening so when we arrived we drove for at least 30 minutes until we knew what to do. If possible, next time it will be better if you notify costumers if there are road works and no way in ti the hotel and offer them the solution.

We had a wonderful stay last weekend at the Novotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and any queries we had were dealt with quickly. I had said we were celebrating my sister in laws birthday so she had a birthday platter and we had a free drink. How kind and thoughtful was that. Definitely recommend.

Room was lovely, spacious and clean., however the noise from the lift and drains was so disruptive. i was woken at 4am and struggled to get back to sleep with the intermittent noise. my business travel account asks for a room away from the lifts. I hadn't realised the noise would be so noticable until the early morning or would have asked for a change. I was also advised at reception upon check in that my room rate included a £30 allowance, however at the bar was told this wasn't the case - not a huge issue and I could have investigated with reception.

I was very lucky to win a complimentary night stay and breakfast in a giveaway. We stayed in the Suite Room and were blown away by the room, it was amazing! Lovely waterside views, the room was huge and had everything you may need. Breakfast was a great selection and all very well cooked and laid out. Novotel even added a few little personal touches with a welcome card and some sweet treats to our room which was lovely. Couldn’t fault it!

We were so chuffed to make your stay pleasant, at Novotel our guests are the most important thing ever and when we hear compliments it makes us have butterflies! Booked Novotel mainly due to a) All_Accor affiliation and b) right location, close to my conference in the booked out Intercontinental O2. The reception was nice, the room was standard. Didn't like that I couldn't have a shower standing up as only a small bathtub was fitted and no mount on the wall to fix the shower head to. Small issues. What really let me down was the cleaning service, who took the towels and did not replace them, also coffee was not replaced. Raised this at reception, and was offered another welcome drink - on the morning of my departure. One other recommendation - please just state that the welcome drink is either a soft drink, beer or wine - that's perfectly fine and a nice touch. What I didn't like was the bar staff immediately upon asking for the drink (previous night, had one in my app) - shoved a list in my face with "all of this is excluded", thank you. OK... chill out, lady, I just politely asked about a service that came with my reservation / status :D In summary, ok hotel in good location when one has business in the area. Staff overall has a "can't be bothered" attitude (some exceptions at reception, who were friendly throughout)
