Stayed 1 night - went out for an hour to come back and find the door open and unlocked for anyone to walk in. Staff couldn’t say who came in and why. Made the rest of the stay rather uncomfortable. Manager wasn’t in until after we checked out the following day. Apparently maintenance had come in but for reasons no one knows, all sounds dodgy but lucky it seems nothing was taken.

Although I paid to upgrade the room was very basic. The bed was lumpy and the pillows were a shock, no good for support to set up i the bed to watch TV, however very comfortable to sleep on. The plug sockets (extension socket) were to far away for the coffee machine and kettle, so I had to shift. The shower was lovely all be it that it appeared to be a prefab unit. The website I booked through indicated there was a safe in the room but this was not the case, I would need to take any valuables to reception and ask to have it put in the safe there somewhere which didn't feel secure to me, not knowing who would have access. The proximity to the Excel is perfect though, so if you are happy with no bells and whistles this would be perfect. Plus they have a bar open til late.

Ideal if visiting the O2 a short cable car ride over the water,coming back to the hotel is not so easy if after 11.00pm as the cable closes and everyone is looking for taxis.Something to factor in if going to an event.The staff were pleasant the rooms are adequate,the drinks and food were standard London prices but decent.Parking at 60 quid for 2 nights using the hotel next door is very expensive.

We had a lovely stay at ibis London Excel Docklands. Normally stay at Ibis Greenwich but they were full so chose Excel for next best location. As usual the customer service was excellent, especially the restaurant staff who helped me with a special request. Got a near top-floor room with a great view and as I was going out and about a lot, being near to the tube lines was great. If it's your thing, near to the cable car too. Good ice cream van usually a couple hundred yards down the road and a Tesco Express nearby as well as a Premier mini supermarket. Beware, though, no Wetherspoons or proper chip shop nearby, had to go to Greenwich for those. Poor check in speed though, long queue and only one staff member on duty :( :( To be fair the person did try to get another staff member to join them, but nobody was available.

Comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Close to the Elizabeth line and DLR for getting to other parts of the city. Ideally situated for the Excel exhibition centre. Located in a relaxing part of London and very close to the river, great for an evening walk in the summer. The breakfast was extremely good. Plenty of choice of hot and cold food and drinks. It set me up for the day!
