If you want a location that is well situated to The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Grass Market, and New Town, this is a great hotel. However, the staff is not that friendly or helpful, and there was a horrible sewer smell in our room that came up from the shower drain. Fortunately, we went nose blind to it after about 20 minutes after returning to the room. The lobby was nice, and the facility appeared clean.

Not a great check-in experience, with a classic "Subject to availability" response from the front desk despite my being a Diamond member. The revolving door at the entrance is a pain to push open when you're holding luggage in both hands. The upgraded room I stayed in is poorly designed and not suitable for a family. For a solo stay, it is a good room, though.

Breakfast quite good with several items added to the Standard British Breakfast which gets in incredibly monotonous traveling thru GB. Beds comfortable. Didn’t care for the see-thru door on toilet and shower. Also prefer rooms where thermostats work. Staff warm and welcoming.

We really enjoyed our stay with you. A welcoming Atmosphere , very kind people and a good starting point for exploring the city by foot. We especially loved the way, that our baby was always welcome and smiled at by everyone. The only thing was that we got a normal bed instead of the baby cot we had asked for in advance. But we decided to make our own changes to it and try something new. It worked, so we never asked for a babycot whilest our stay. Thank you for a lovely week

Overall a good experience but a few things can be approved. When you ask for guidence to restaurant etc. in the reception the information flow was quite poor. Restaurant is very bad - we had dinner there one night - we ordered a pizza and it was undercooked with absolutely no flavour... we made a claim and the suprvisor was almost rude and gave us some discount.... but we should not have paid at all. Hotel is well located close to the Grass Market

Very inattentive waiting staff always in the bar chatting. Receptionist was just confused and odd. Food in the restraurant was largely taste free. But the facilities especially the pool was great and the room was well cleaned and efficiently serviced

No sink in toilet location
