My wife, daughter and I spent an overnight at Novotel Edinburgh - our second time in the past twelve months - and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and the hotel is nice. Location-wise, it’s great.

Awful reception staff especially the bald male. Hotel charged me £60 for breakfast I already paid the £30 in my booking and they charged me again on arrival as they “couldn’t find proof on their system” this same system then attempted to charge my bank £156.60 and then £126.60 thankfully my bank blocked it the staff said it was an error no apology absolutely vile! I’m travelling solo with 3 children if my bank had not blocked it then it would have ruined our trip completely. His response was “we would have refunded you” how long would that have taken? How many people have been charged more and not realised! I will never stay with this chain again. Arguing with a customer at the front desk over their errors.. disgusting.

An ok location with a 10 min walk to the old town. Could not adjust room temperature (only the fan speed), check in not available on time (had to wait 30 mins) and pricey vs the value.
