The hotel itself was nice enough, I would say basic, but in a good location, close enough to walk into Edinburgh city centre. The room was clean and comfortable, and we did manage to get a parking space underneath the hotel, although the car park is extremely small with only around 10 spaces, and it cost £20 for the night. Unfortunately, a few things let the experience down. The spa facilities were disappointing — the pool, jacuzzi and sauna were all much smaller than expected. We also stayed in a family room for three people, yet there were only two cups, two bottles of water and two hot chocolates provided. Considering the room sleeps four, it really should have been stocked properly. The biggest disappointment, however, was the reception experience. The gentleman who checked us in seemed distracted and unwelcoming throughout, sighing and rolling his eyes, which immediately gave a poor first impression and affected the overall stay. We also felt the breakfast was overpriced at around £20+ per person, so we ended up finding a lovely café in Edinburgh instead which was cheaper and had a much better atmosphere. Overall, an okay stay with a convenient location, but the customer service and a few disappointing details meant it didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Generally we were pleased with our stay. It was very clean & comfortable. Our biggest issue was that the room was very warm, even with the fan turned up. Water comes in the room if you open the windows while it’s raining, so it was difficult sleeping bc of how hot we were.

The hotel is well located and our stay was very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. The variety of food available at breakfast was great, except as vegetarians we would have preferred the vegetarian sausages to have protein (eg. Soy) in them and not just vegetables. We liked the facilities available, and the kids enjoyed the pool even though it is quite small. We didn’t like the fact that the WC in the room didn’t have a sink, for hygiene purposes. The bedding was clean but the bathroom floor didn’t look as though it had been swept.
