ibis Barcelona Castelldefels Hotel 2 stars

It’s like you’re sleeping in an IKEA department store. Sad. The reception is very colored but the rooms are grey and black. Breakfast is just normal with a coffee machine which didn't work. Si the staff had to make from the bar. Anyway for the price what else you can get.

I can't complain about the place for it's price point. Located ~20 mins from Barcelona Airport and there are supermarkets and a shopping centre next to it. The centre of Castelldefels is 10 mins from the hotel and has some excellent places to eat/drink. I'd stay here again, just a shame that there isn't enough parking spaces within the hotel for all rooms.

Good stay in general: friendly staff, good bar, comfortable bed and bedroom. However, the pillow was not so comfortable... but, of course, it depends on the person. It could be nice if the Hotel let two different types of pillows in the room (softer and harder pillow). Thanks for all!

All ok except individual beds I have been in ibis since more than 15 years and normally beds were very good In this hotel they fix new individual beds which were extremely unconfortable and also very small. I had a extremely bad night there

The hotel has a fantastic design, the reception, bar and restaurant are located in open space, and near many grand supermarkets, You can either 10 mn walk up to the old town, The rooms are very large, clean and equiped with comfortable space for working. I would like to thank the staff for their kindness, helpfulness and professionalism.This hotel can be recommended as a best choice for staying in  this city.    

I understand the security with the locked gate and a fence surrounding the hotel, but it is quite off-putting when you have a reservation there seems to be no way in without a code and nobody opens for you. Other than that the staff were mostly friendly. The room itself was good and the bed was comfortable. However, there is no way of closing the curtains so that the glaring light that lights up the hotel outside doesn't enter your room. If you are ok sleeping when it's not dark, no problem, but I think many people will actually want a dark room in order to sleep. Overall not bad, but definitely could be better!

The best option for short stays in Castelldefels in terms of value for money. First of all, the hotel is wonderfully located, the train station and public transport stops, including buses to Barcelona (L95, E95), within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and quite comfortable, the famous Ibis’s mattresses are especially good :), a sweet dream is guaranteed. Friendly staff at the reception, daily high-quality cleaning, there is always cold lemonade in the lobby), a closed guarded area. The only drawback is breakfast, but there is usually no need for it, given the numerous cafes around and in the large shopping center Anec Blau, located across the street from the hotel. Near the hotel are two excellent supermarkets - Carrefour and Lidl. You can easily reach the beach by bus L95 (three stops in the direction to Barcelona). You can also easily walk to the beach along the Olympic Canal (walk for about 20 minutes), the path is beautiful, specially made for morning runs, there is a dedicated bicycle lane. I am pleased to stay again at this hotel.

We are platinum members, and we stay in at least 63 Accor properties a year. We also stay in a few ibis hotels each year and we normally are satisfied with the Quality v the Price ! We found one of the reception women i believed called Mari( that's the name i could see on the red lanyard she wore round her neck) to be totally unprofessional and unwelcoming, we didn't even get a smile and she had a very bad attitude On 5th of may at 10 am , a very quite Sunday , i asked for a late check out , as is my right as a Platinum member , i was taken back when she pulled a face and said the Ibis was full! (there was only one car in the car park and no one other guests viable in the public areas) I had to produce my Status card then horse trade for 5 minutes with " mari " for a late checkout as our flight was at 9pm . ( also the Ibis was still deserted at 5pm when i checked) Later before checkout i told my Platinum Welcome drink voucher to the same women, again she showed her bad attitude she told my welcome drink could only consist of a small glass of beer that must have cost the ibis a maximum of 50 cents ! ( this i know is untrue , but at this point i didn't want to ague with her anymore! To summarize. Cold rooms , no matter what you set the thermostat at! Small rooms with gloomy views! Certain members of staff lacking in basic manners! The smell in the 4th floor was a damp decaying smell. Rooms definitely need modernizing , they are far worse than found in cheaper motels such as basic and inexpensive UK Travelodge. Soap dispensers were sealed , i asked at reception for them to remove the plastic tabs, ( it never happened) so i did it myself , its not easy unless you have a tool Building work on going on the 4th floor ! Dust under the bed! The worst quality / price ratio I've ever seen in the Ibis . Yes its poor value And to beat the standard management response... " You most certainly didn't provide a superior service experience for every customer, in fact it was the worst Ibis i have ever stayed in ! I will take these matters further with the head of Ibis Europe !

This was a great hotel, like all Ibis hotels. The room was good, the bathroom has a walk in shower and the window opens and the wifi is very good. The Continental breakfast is very good plenty to fill up with for the day. The staff were very nice and friendly. I think you would need a car to stay here and they have free onsite parking which we were very pleased about.

Excellent location, perfect cleanliness, a little bit bad is noisy and parking area smaller for that facility apart from that everything is perfect. By the way there is a public parking area nearby the hotel. Thanks for castelldefels crew, thanks for accordhotels family.

I have been staying at this hotel for years when I am travelling through and am amazed that the staff have ALWAYS been so friendly and helpful. This trip wasn't any different. The Hotel, a standard Ibis, is located in town with secured parking. Flanked by a large (dog friendly) Shopping Centre on one side and a large Carrefour on the other, you have access to almost anything that you need. (The Carrefour has a petrol station attached selling the cheapest fuel around). Thanks for another great stay.

FANTASTIC as usual! My suitcase was stolen at the airport (inside my rental car, in the Hertz Parking Lot. BEWARE THERE! They pretend to be lot employees, with ID and everything) and they were very sympathetic and helpful with the police report. Having a shopping mall and two supermarkets less than a block away was a blessing to buy new clothes and toiletries. The Train station is 4 blocks away (R2 train to Barcelona). PRICE, LOCATION and SERVICE! No one can beat that!

We did a lot of research before choosing this hotel for our trip to Barcelona and it paid off! We had a wonderful five night stay at this Ibis. It is a very well run and managed hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The non-smoking rooms are very clean, modern (with a wooden floor which we prefer) and comfortable while the air conditioning is some of the best we have experienced. An added bonus is that the window in the room can be opened if you like some fresh air. House keeping is very thorough and on two different days we were asked by the head housekeeper if we were happy with the way the room had been serviced (which we were). Little touches like complimentary cold drinks in the lobby were appreciated. The location was great - a ten minute walk to the station for Barcelona, a ten minute walk to the bus for the airport (L99 - every half hour), approximately a twenty minute walk to the beach and about the same length of time to walk up to the castle. If you are interested in shopping for food you are spoilt for choice - next to the hotel is a Lidl supermarket, about two minutes away there is a Carrefour supermarket and in the shopping centre across the road there is a supermercado! Our stay was great value for money. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to Patricia and her team for being so welcoming and for making our stay so memorable.

Comfortable hotel with good air conditioning and free WiFi. Helpful and friendly staff who work hard at making your stay relaxing. Great Ibis breakfast and food menu with a nice bar. 300 mtrs to the station where you can be in central Barcelona in 25 minutes for €2.25. Good, free, secure parking. Walk across the road to a large selection of shops and restaurants.
