The room was small, but clean. Nice bathroom, big shower. The two lads on the bar were friendly. Worked together well. The receptionist booked us in promptly. It was a bit disappointing that we had to pay £11 for parking and £2.40 for city tax. Didn't realise this was a thing. I picked the hotel because it had a car park.

The room was exceptionally dark with no central ceiling light. The kettle and cups/coffee tray was nowhere near a plug. The TV socket was behind the TV on the wall and was too high for the kettle lead to reach. So we had to move everything to the other side of the table near the bed to plug in the kettle. Why position it where there is no plug? The menu in the room had such tiny font we couldn't read it with glasses on AND a magnifying glass. The air con had no instructions so we couldnt turn off the fan which made it noisy and we couldn'tget any heat. In the end they brought a plug in fan. The fan in the bathroom was on all the time even with the light switched off making it noisy and cold. There were only 2 bath towels and no hand towel. There was no shelf to put toiletries in the shower. So we had to scrabble on the floor for sponge, shower gel, conditioner etc. Not ideal. It doesnt take much to attach a small shelf to stop bending down to pick up your tioletries to use, especially if you are almost 70. I was brought a bottle of coke without a glass and no straw. I had to then go and ask for a glass as I didn't want to swig it straight out of the bottle. We were overcharged by approx £14.00 when ordering a meal. We questioned it to be told it was correct. We questioned it again and eventually the penny dropped. They HAD overcharged us. The breakfast area is far too small for the size of the hotel.with everyone scrabbling to get tables. I cant imagine what it must be like in summer or weekends. There needs to be more thought on how user friendly and practical things are especially in the bedroom. We certainly wont be staying here again!

The hotel is in a great location, easy to get to, and has excellent access to Liverpool ONE and the docks. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the parking was also very convenient. However, I think it’s a bit of a stretch to describe the room we had as a “dock view” room. I could just about see the dock if I really craned my neck, but most of the view was of a massive six-carriageway road and the car park. Considering we paid a premium for this room, I felt it was rather disappointing and not quite as advertised. There was also a sewage smell in the room in the morning, which wasn’t particularly pleasant. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and would consider staying again, but I definitely wouldn’t book the same style of room. The location, staff and parking were all great, but I was disappointed with the “dock view” room and felt it wasn’t accurately represented.
