I’ve stayed in better military accommodation. Room stark a bear more comfort in a prison cell . Carpet in the room more like vinyl with a bit of dog hair on it . Up side is the location apart from that avoid like the plague

As long time members of AllAcor we love the Ibis brand. There is a standard running through the hotels that we can usually rely on, but the Ibis at Albert Dock, Liverpool, had a couple of issues. 1. Our room smelled badly of old drains eminating from the wash basin plughole. We had to keep the plug in place to stop it. 2. Cutlery in the restaurant was placed in wooden boxes on the tables, (blades and tines upwards) without being wrapped in serviettes. This meant that guests can't avoid handling several of them when trying to get a knife and fork. This is a hygiene issue. 3. Also a hygiene issue were the cooked breakfasts. Fresh supplies of bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs were tipped from plastic bowls directly on top of the older food remaining in the hot servers. Never seen this done anywhere else, before. The usual plactice is to remove the older food first. Not happy with that, at all. 4.booking confusion. Having booked and paid for one night, I later phoned in to extend our booking by one more night. After the first day, we found that our key was invalid and it appeared that we had been checked out because the extension had been treated as a separate booking. It took a little while for staff to work out what had happened and re allocate our room to us. This is not the sort of mistake I've come to expect from the brand. Putting these issues aside, our room and bathroom were both spotless. The bed was amazing. The staff were fantastic and really helpful.

Had a good stay but felt it was wrong in a packed reception area to announce everyone's room number to them for all to hear. I thought that was not supposed to happen and that you would just be verbally informed of the floor and referred to the key wallet for your room number like most other hotels do? Another issue was the back door (fire exit) at the bottom of the stairs was constantly left open for hours at a time which in my mind posed a security risk as anyone could have walked thru and then had access to the guest rooms, which from the front of the hotel were only accessible via a key card (for stairs and lift). I would not feel comfortable staying at this hotel as a lone female traveller but thankfully was with my partner this weekend. Otherwise, room was adequately clean and warm once heating had been put on for a few hours. The hotel is in a great location for Albert Dock and the town, and the walk to/from the station wasn't too far either.

Hotel is okay and seemed clean. The bed's are very hard, didn't have a good night's sleep. Shame as would have stopped here again.
