Stairwell up to rooms was dirty and uninviting. Rooms had no soundproofing so could hear other people on the phone and doors opening and closing throughout the night. My colleague found a bug in the mushrooms at breakfast.

Work trip booked at relatively short notice co-inciding with the football meant I had limited options. Arrived late evening due to train cancellations and desk had no available key cards. Had to wait ~10 mins for one to be found. Room was OK but had dust/cobwebs on the lighting, and to address a shortage of plugs there was an adaptor provided, one socket of which was melted. Dangerous. Curtains didn't fully cover the window so light was coming in (luckily I had my sleep mask) and the landing light flicked on and off constantly. Wouldn't stay again.

First room I was given the main door didn’t lock from the inside so requested a move to another room. Both rooms were in need of a lick of paint. Carpets were heavily stained and not necessarily vacuumed well. Bathroom looked like it had recently been updated but generally I will avoid this hotel for future stays.

The hotel was tricky to find, as the postcode provided directed me to a different location. There were also no signs from the main road to guide guests to the correct entrance. On arrival, there was an unpleasant damp smell near the room entrance, and the carpets were dirty and stained. The walls were extremely thin, and I could literally hear the guests in the neighbouring room turning over in their beds. There was also considerable noise from other guests, which made it very difficult to sleep. I chose this hotel because it was ideally located close to David Lloyd and the place where I was visiting family. The location was perfect for my needs, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. However, despite these positives, I hardly slept due to the noise and disturbance from neighbouring rooms. Unfortunately, the poor soundproofing, cleanliness issues and difficulty finding the hotel significantly detracted from my stay. I would have appreciated a much quieter and more comfortable night's rest.

Lovely stay at ibis Coventry South. The hotel is very comfortable, and the reception staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very clean, and the housekeeping staff are professional, polite, and attentive. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Warm friendly staff and clean well maintained rooms. This hotel is also situated in an attractive wooded location. The rooms are of concrete construction and therefore quiet, unlike most modern hotel buildings that have creaky wooden floors.

The hotel really needs refurbishment as the soundproof is not very good in the room and the stairs and area outside the rooms is not really up to a good standard. Breakfast is acceptable but very basic.

I can't say we were very impressed. A few small changes would have made it satisfactory but with so many things that were wrong it is really hard to want to stay again. Driving in, the hotel looked tired and dated. The room smelt damp, very noticeable as soon as we walked in. The curtain wasn't properly attached so lots of light was let through. Probably a simple fix so having it broken felt quite poor. The noise - the walls to the outside were very thin and we were woken up by the sound of a trolley rattling past at 6am and many times there were people walking past which sounded as if there was no wall there. The hook on the bathroom for the towel was bent down/broken. The breakfast pretty good (hash browns were possibly the hightlight of the stay), a fried egg option would have been nice. I'd say if the breakfast was £7 I'd have been very impressed, at almost £10 one more egg option would have been nice. No hand towel in the bathroom. Light on the wall had a fixing plug that was out. I do believe with some of these being fixed i would feel much more positive, but there were just constant things to notice that were wrong.
