Satisfying Uncharatericstic slow check in

The room was clean, but the mattress was very thin and the bathroom and shower are quite small. The breakfast was excellent. Room amenities were sparse, but the internet worked well.

This trip was very good and I could not have asked for more in relation to the Ibis hotel. The rooms were large and clean, the breakfast was excellent and well worth the money. The location of this hotel is very good in relation to the city centre and access to the subway, and there are many places nearby to eat at a reasonable price.

The stuff was extremely kind and helpful. I was thankful to be able to check in early, and leave my luggage at the hotel for an additional half day after checking out. The room was clean, the bed was super.

Repeated stay in this hotel. All was OK, perfect breakfast.

Excellent service from very friendly staff. Very helpful and welcoming!. Very pleased that the reception area is still the “traditional “ style - and not the new “Apple store” style reception. Also good to see staff wearing proper uniforms - not the cheap looking new Ibis casual style “hoodies”

Nice stay, the room design is nice, the view was kind of satisfying, bigger than most of the hotels i stayed in europe.

the hotel is in a great location, close to everything rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and helpful we shopped around but found this to be the best price and at a great location would definitely go back and recommend

The room was great. The staff was friendly and responsive. And the breakfast served was fine. All in all, I'd stay there again. But there were a few problems. First and most important was the fact that there were only two small elevators, and one of them was out the whole week I was there. Apparently, there was a part that had to be ordered before the broken elevator could be fixed. It wasn't functioning the day that I arrived, so it may well have been broken even longer than a week. In a 9-story hotel, this is a disaster. (And I was on the 8th floor. ) Secondly, I had problems with the laundry. when I asked about the laundry services, they did not advise me that they provide the plastic bags; I only found that out later, when I delivered my clothes at the front desk in a bag of my own. Also, they told me that the laundry would be delivered to my room. This was not done. I wondered what was going on, but was relieved to find that my clothes were downstairs, behind the front desk. Third, I was advised to take the 100E bus to the airport when I was leaving. This was good advice, but when I asked if they had a compartment underneath the bus for luggage storage (my suitcase was particularly large and heavy), they said yes, but that turned out not to be the case. I had to squeeze my suitcase onto the bus, and only just barely made it, as the bus was very crowded. The following buses would likely have been crowded as well, given that I was leaving in the morning. I might have had to forego the 100E buses altogether. The problems I described in the second paragraph here are small ones, of course. And I attribute them to the staff's inexperience, nothing more. Here's another such instance: One night I was served coffee from the bar in a porcelain cup for a takeaway, and I had to return the cup and saucer to the front desk the next morning. It was only when I ordered coffee the next evening that I learned that paper cups were available. Again, this was no big deal, and caused only a minor annoyance. But it is a sign of inexperience. It should be emphasized, however, that the positives outweighed the negatives by a long shot: The room was spacious, attractive, and very clean. The staff downstairs were friendly, knowledgeable, and obliging; and they did their best to provide me with the most information possible. The public spaces (hallways, lobby, restaurant) are all very attractive. The breakfast buffet had many offerings, and they were hearty and filling (though I would have preferred eggs over easy once in a while). Also, the location is terrific. Though it's disappointing that the Kalvin Ter metro stop wasn't open on weekends, I was still able to walk to where I wanted to go. The hotel is so close to just about everything. Finally, given the style and comfort of the hotel, and its great location, Ibis Budapest Centrum was a fantastic value for the price. Overall, the hotel is an excellent one, and I would recommend it to anyone. I would also stay there myself if I make another trip to Budapest.

There was a big problem all the stay with one of two lifts not working. As we were on the seventh floor this meant we had some long waits with the lift regulary appearing already full. Once after about five minutes waiting we gave up and used the stairs. I also was not very happy when I payed our final bill and was told that to vouchers that we had from not having our room serviced twice could not be used towards paying of part of the bar bill, being told they could only be used if drinks were paided for at the time. This was the first I knew about this and resulted in our bill being 1800 Florients (about £6) higher than I was expecting.

The hotel is clean and spacious. Great location and very convenient to public transportation.

The staff are friendly. However, before I checked in, I wrote an E-mail requesting for early check-in and the hotel replied that they would try to arrange it for me. Unfortunately, when I arrived, they cannot made the early check-in for me. In addition, I made the online check-in before I arrived, but the check-in process still cost a lot of time. Regarding the bar, there is no special duty bartender. When I want to order some drinks, I had to wait for the receptionists to finish their check-in works for other guests to have me a drink. It is really time-wasting. Except for the above-mentioned things, the hotel's location is great for the tourist to visit the beautiful Budapest.
