1. Aircon was set to minimum 17c which I find to warm for a comfortable sleep. 2. The advertised garden was closed. 3. Although the bar menu had bar snacks on it, all that was available was crisps. Also, the drinks selection left a lot to be desired. 4. My TV was not receiving any internet channels

We've travelled as a group of friends for weekend bonding trip, the IBIS hotel was at a great location, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed (and even dark curtains) and the morning buffet had just about everything we desired.

All interactions with hotel staff was 10/10, they couldn’t have been more friendly. The room was extremely clean, with a comfortable bed. The hotels location was perfect for exploring Budapest, either by foot or transit (major transport hub outside). A good choice of local bars and restaurants and prime party locations also walkable. Found Budapest to be very friendly.

Usually choose this hotel when in Budapest for concerts or meeting friends. Located just off Kavin Ter is just a minutes walk from the M2 metro which provides quick and easy connections to get almost anywhere in Budapest.

Our stay was disappointing from the moment we checked in. When we first entered the room, there was a noticeable bad smell. We initially assumed it was because the air conditioning was turned off, so we turned on the aiconditioning, kept it running and went out for dinner. When we returned, however, the smell had become intolerable, and we had to request a room change. In the second room, we experienced problems with both the air conditioning and the lighting. Room was not getting cold and busted light bulb. The hotel maintenance team responded promptly and addressed the issues. However, the air conditioning still did not improve significantly, although it was eventually tolerable. The following morning, both of us woke up with red welts on our skin. We immediately asked the hotel to have the room thoroughly cleaned and checked and specifically requested that the bed sheets be replaced. When we later found that the sheets had not been replaced, we decided that we were no longer comfortable staying at the hotel and cut our stay short. What was most disappointing was the response from the reception staff. When we informed them that we were leaving early, they did not even ask why we were shortening our stay. Given the problems we had experienced, we expected at least some concern or an effort to understand what had happened. Overall, we felt that the staff did not show much concern about the problems we experienced or about our decision to leave early. The prompt response from maintenance was appreciated, but the overall handling of our stay left us feeling that our concerns were not taken seriously.

Nice location, some of the staff are nice (beard guy and breakfast people) others are rough and feels like you are bothering them, disgusting (desk people). The room is nice BUT light enters from below the main door. The doors are so heavy and closes so hard that the whole room vibrates when other people of other rooms close their doors. You can hear people peeing, taking or whatever from other rooms. The shower pressure comes and go (4th floor) sudden water temperature changes make the showering experience disgusting.

Although the location was central we found that the air conditioning failed to keep up with Hungary's summer. The room got really toasty during the day. I was surprised to find that coffee or tea wasn't complimentary, which was disappointing.

I know that the ambient temperature has been very hight, but I was disappointed that the whole hotel seemed to be at 24 or so degrees. Clearly the air con needs attention. It was set on 19 in our room. I expect the room didn’t get below around 23.

the location is great, small clean room. But - the air condition didn't work well on the hottest week of August, our room wasn't cleaned until we asked for it, and when we asked for something, like soap or towels, we were told to come to reception and take it.
