Despite slight misgivings during our last stay in May we stayed at the Ibis Centrum again in September. The location, ideal for restaurants, metro, the market hall, and the ease of getting to and from the airport are just unbeatable. The last time I wasn’t very happy with the breakfast, but seemed sufficiently improved to me. There were also sufficient staff members, so no waiting for cups or clean forks etc. Just one word of advice: if you fancy something from the breakfast buffet, have it there and then. I spotted something particularly tempting, but as my plate was already laden, and I didn’t want to waste food, I thought I’ll have it the next morning. Wrong decision, it wasn’t on offer again during our entire five night stay. We knew what to expect from the room: basic but clean and functional. And a nice view to the church in Kalvin Square. This time we were given a room with two single beds, and what I didn’t expect was that the mattress was just placed on a simple base, unsecured, and was sliding about so much that I often feared I’d fall out of the bed. Otherwise an ok stay, but I as an Accor member I’m contemplating upgrading to a Novotel or the Mercure across the road next time.

The hotel is located right in the center and next to the airport busses, shopping, bridge, restaurants and subway. Everything was accessible by walking from there. Hotel standard was as expected - clean and exactly what you expect of an ibis. We would stay here again in the future if we go back to Budapest. Only missing part was the soap and tissues in the bathroom was not restocked when they cleaned the room (which I thought the cleaning did daily). We however forgot to mention it to the reception so they didn’t have a chance to fix it outside the cleaning staffs rounds.

Good location but disappointed with room

Hotel was a good location but some things in the room weren't great. For example, mattress was very firm, as was the mattress topper - not comfortable. The air conditioning didn't work so nights were hot. Bathroom door didn't fully shut. Issues with hot water - either didn't work or was too hot. Not kettle or coffee/tea in the room - which was unusual.
