I recently stayed again at the Nemzeti Hotel Budapest – MGallery Collection, and overall, I was satisfied with my stay. The room was beautifully and tastefully furnished, everything was fully functional, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The quality of accommodation met my expectations, especially since I have stayed at this hotel twice before. Breakfast was excellent, with a very good variety and quality of food. However, I was quite surprised to see that the selection of the complimentary welcome drink had become significantly more limited. In the past, sparkling wine or simple mixed drinks (such as an Aperol Spritz) were available without issue. This time, the choice was restricted only to white or red wine, a hot beverage, or a basic soft drink. What disappointed me the most was an issue with the reservation and recognition of my loyalty status. Although I made both room bookings (for myself and my colleague) directly through my personal ALL loyalty account, the hotel apparently had no record of my reservation. Both bookings were changed under my colleague’s name, and there was no mention of me anywhere in their system, even though my app clearly showed my reservation in my name. As a result, none of my ALL Platinum benefits were recognized or applied. Ironically, my colleague—who is not a member of the ALL loyalty program—received all the VIP benefits intended for members: an upgraded room, a welcome gift, and personalized welcome notes. I, on the other hand, received none of these benefits. The receptionist did not resolve the situation even after I informed him that I am a Platinum member. My question is: does no one among the staff or management verify whether the loyalty benefits are actually being assigned to registered ALL members? The only benefit I received was the welcome drink, and that was solely because I had the digital voucher in my ALL app, which correctly recognized my Platinum status and my valid reservation. I must admit that this experience left me very disappointed. I have always considered the Nemzeti Hotel one of my favorite places to stay in Budapest, but this time the lack of attention to loyalty recognition significantly diminished my overall impression.

The hotel was lovely and the beds were comfortable. The carpet in our room was disgustingly dirty and stained. If we had stayed longer than one night, I would have asked to be moved. The restaurant was very nice. We had drinks and dinner with the other couples we were traveling with, and everyone enjoyed their food. The woman that served us was very helpful. I had emailed months earlier to set up a transfer to the airport at 3:00 AM. When I confirmed it at check-in, the front desk woman acted like she couldn’t find the arrangement. I even showed her the email that I had received from Gabor Gulyas on 10/27, stating that arrangements were made. Eventually, she located the information, but she really made me nervous. I also really appreciated the early check in option, as I was able to drop my bags in my room and begin sightseeing.

A pleasant stay in a well-located hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, no complaints there. However, it's regrettable that no special attention was given to my Accor Gold status, as is usually the case in Accor hotels.
