The location of the hotel is great. Staff are not friendly or helpful and despite being a silver member, was not even offered a welcome drink. I checked in to my room and found the shampoo bottle empty. After they cleaned my room, shampoo bottle was still empty, no toilet rolls were replaced and no rosters were replaced. There was a finished toilet roll on the floor and that wasn’t even picked up. So I genuinely wonder about the cleanliness. I’ve been staying in this hotel for over two years now and the breakfast has not changed at all. Coffee is dreadful. Would be nice to see a change of attitude with the staff and an increase of cleanliness.

Nice hotel and a super convenient location

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Mercure Budapest Korona. The family suite was spacious and cozy, and we enjoyed in particular the excellent breakfast at the bridge overlooking the streets of the city. The site was great at close proximity to the city center with many key attractions at walking distance. Moreover, if you wanted to go further, the hotel was very conveniently located right next to the metro station. Lastly, as an ALL Platinum member we enjoyed our complimentary snacks and drinks at the hotel's lobby bar in the evenings. I'd definitely go back!

Reasonable hotel spoilt by poor administration practices.

Good location and the lobby and restaurant are clean and comfortable. Rooms are a little small and the bathroom isn't very well designed and needs maintenance attention. Shower was all over the place and too low. The bath is high and not easily accessible. Negatives...I chose the hotel via our company travel agent, and despite that, I'm not permitted to allocate points to my loyalty card. Not good practice! No incentive to return now, lost custom Mercure! I had booked breakfast for two of the three mornings...leaving early on the departure day, but they insisted on charging for the third breakfast...Not good service.

Nice...but Extra Fees!

montanadigital Friends getaway - TripAdvisor review

Stayed during NYE and this hotel is very nicely decorated with some quirky artwork and shoe cleaning machines through the hallways (appreciated in the winter time). Twin room was a good size. No complaints about stay. However, we arrived in Budapest early and understandably the hotel is full. The reception staff dealing with us was very helpful! Arranged us the soonest available room. BUT it was €10 per hour extra (Check in at 3pm). Appreciate the rules, but having been staying in hotels (including Mercure) for over 2 decades. I have NEVER had such an extortionate charge! It usually waived or just an extra €20 MAX (not €65) - for a room that would be otherwise empty! This alone would make me avoid Mercure for all future trips.
