We are sincerely sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience caused by the pre-authorization made prior to your arrival. Your dissatisfaction, as well as the stress caused by this situation, is completely understandable. However, this pre-authorization is part of a standard guarantee procedure applied to all reservations, including those where payment is planned in cash at the hotel. This is not a charge, but a temporary hold placed by the bank in order to guarantee the reservation. The release of the funds then depends on each bank’s processing times. Some banks, especially during public holidays or weekends, may take several days before making the amount available again on the card. In certain cases, this delay may exceptionally take up to a week. On the other hand, some banks process these operations immediately after the guests’ departure. It is regrettable that this situation affected your experience, and your comment regarding the lack of clarity of this information has been carefully noted. Particular attention will be given to improving communication on this matter in order to avoid any confusion in the future.
