Hotel Mercuri is very well located, right next to the Papal Palace. However, the facilities are in need of renovation; the rooms, bathrooms, and carpets look very worn. While the service is good, the facilities are a bit disappointing considering the price. Still, I must emphasize that the location is truly excellent.

Comfortable stay in very hot weather. Very helpful directions to the car park sent in advance. Publicity makes much of the hotel's proximity to the Palais de Papes but you are unable to access the roof terrace as a "regular" guest - only those staying in superior rooms, which was rather disappointing.

We stayed at the Mercure Avignon Centre Palais des Papes and your staff were exemplary; friendly, most helpful and always professional. We stayed for four nights, the first in old building which was unpleasant in the heatwave. However when we alerted the problem with the air conditioning (it didn’t work), we were moved to the newer building and we greatly enjoyed the remaining 3 nights of our stay.

On a very hot June day the hotel was in the perfect central spot to stay. Comfortable bed, good products in the bathroom. And we had a little view of the Palais des Papes too!

Overall a great place for our family of 3 to spend 4 nights. It was literally across from the Palais des Papes and many restaurants and a cute carousel right below the hotel. Room was slightly tight with the sofa bed pulled out but worked well. Robes and slippers provided which was a nice touch. Breakfast had a good variety that our family enjoyed. We liked facing the back courtyard with view of the palace walls which made it quiet for a good night's sleep. Only slight issue we encountered was we arrived at 1:30pm and the reservations clearly show 2PM check-in time but the gal at the front desk said the room wasn't ready and check-in time was 2:30PM. Not a big deal just that they should acknowledge it as being at 2PM and just state they are behind on getting the rooms ready. We left our bags with the front desk and went to lunch so it wasn't a big issue. I would definitely stay again for the central location.

Close to main area but the hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Very small and tight room. Carpet looked really old and dingy. Had to wear sandals at all times.
