We were made to feel very welcome, you could not ask for a better location to explore Avignon, right in the heart of the old town at the entrance to the Palais des Papes

We were lucky to have room 610, which is large and has its own roof terrace immediately by the Palais des Papes. The hotel location is perfect. Central, so is convenient if you want to return to your room for a break in sightseeing. Yoann on the front desk was very helpful both on arrival and in booking a taxi to take us to the TGV station.

The location is perfect, close to main tourist sites, many little shops and restaurants. Nice bedroom, though a bit small and the bathtub had an awkward showerhead but fine for a few days.

Hotel Mercuri is very well located, right next to the Papal Palace. However, the facilities are in need of renovation; the rooms, bathrooms, and carpets look very worn. While the service is good, the facilities are a bit disappointing considering the price. Still, I must emphasize that the location is truly excellent.

Comfortable stay in very hot weather. Very helpful directions to the car park sent in advance. Publicity makes much of the hotel's proximity to the Palais de Papes but you are unable to access the roof terrace as a "regular" guest - only those staying in superior rooms, which was rather disappointing.

We stayed at the Mercure Avignon Centre Palais des Papes and your staff were exemplary; friendly, most helpful and always professional. We stayed for four nights, the first in old building which was unpleasant in the heatwave. However when we alerted the problem with the air conditioning (it didn’t work), we were moved to the newer building and we greatly enjoyed the remaining 3 nights of our stay.
