My stay was slightly unusual. Air France misplaced by luggage and it was sent from CDG to Mercure Avignon, but didn't arrive there until I had already left Avignon. The staff at Mercure Avignon were extremely helpful and kind in expediting my luggage back to the US. They really could not have been kinder.

I chose the hotel because it had laundry service and I was in the middle of a trip and knew I needed it. It said everyday except Sundays and public holidays, I even checked online that it wasn't a public holiday either throughout France or locally, and nothing came up. But they still didn't do laundry. Also they gave detailed instructions on coming from the carpark but didn't mention to watch out that there are two mercures about 500 metres apart, so maybe not surprisingly I followed to the signs to mercure and ended up at the wrong one, this could be made clearer to guests before they arrive as its a very hard city to move around with luggage, ie cobblestones, uneven streets
