Hotel staff were very helpful but the room was very second class. It resembled a prison cell with a frosted window.

Excessive mould and dust! We had to leave after 1 night, do not stay here. If I knew how to report the hotel to the heath authorities here, I would do so. I asked if there were any rooms available with windows that open to help with ventilation (any ventilation was blocked with dust and the AC covered in mould) and was told that I was thinking of an apartment and that no hotels in Sydney have rooms with opening windows. Bizarre and untrue! I can see similar reviews here describing the mould, avoid!

Tired rooms, poor showers, bed was OK.

Whilst the location was good, I was disappointed with how tired & worn the rooms looked & felt. The bed headboard was delaminating as though water had been constantly thrown over them & it was the same in the bathroom which probably had water thrown over the panels. The shower tray was cracked & was black with mould in the cracked area & the shower valves were in need of maintenance. Overall it was a poor room experience

The staff were personable and friendly. Check-in and check-out were efficient. The hotel is badly dated, the room smelled bad, and the bed sheets were like cardboard. Breakfast was just meh, $25.00 for powdered egg... come on. A beautiful cafe is just over the road, and it offers fresh food at tremendous value. The price for having one's laundry done was nothing short of daylight robbery: $107.00 for a small load. No self-service facility was available, nor was there a laundromat nearby. A world-class location deserves a world-class hotel. Come on, IBIS, you can do better. Stop relying on your staff to do the heavy lifting. The facilities need to be as good as your staff.
