A disappointing stay for a night that was supposed to be about celebrating 2 years worth of Birthdays.....

While we understand that covid played a part in this experience, it doesn't take way the fact this was a very disappointing 20 hours. First room smelled like diesel fuel, had no bottled water or mini bar. Had to wait for second room at pool bar with no luggage for over 40 minutes (we were told 10-15). Then later locked out of new room (which still had no water), had to go to lobby in swimmers to fix keys. Nowhere to eat in hotel after 8pm (except room), so couldn't use membership discount, and had to walk elsewhere to get dinner. Other than breakfast, nothing open until after check out time. The only saving grace was lovely staff members that offered us free breakfast and late checkout...... I emailed the Manager before this review, and he didn't even say sorry when responded. I've had better stays/experiences in 3 star hotels.

Sofitel darling harbour is my favourite hotel in the SYDNEY. They know exactly what they should do to the guest. I am always feeling welcome and brightness when I visit there. This time I went with my partner, they gave us fabulous room that I enjoyed a lot. Room was clean and view was excellent. And we have been pool bar and champagne bar too. Pool bar was good, food and drink was delicious too. Just needs to be organized for the seating maybe..? But eventually great! Champagne bar was nice too. Drinks were amazing and staffs were so kind. They explained well about the menu and operation. Kindly said that food quality with Champagne bar and Room service could be improved? In my opinion, portion size and quality was not really fair compared to the price. Thank you for giving me unforgettable experience, I will definitely visit again!! Thanks all!!

I was very upset with my recent stay due to the following: 1. I had to request my room to be serviced on several occasions at 4.30pm as it was not done 2. Service from the lounge was poor as we were advised on Christmas night a young boy was able to join us in the lounge and we booked a table and then on arrival after 15 minutes there was an incident which a staff member requested the child to be removed while another staff member stood over me in front of all other members seated in the lounge. This was embarrassing as I was being treated with disrespect when we were advised the child could be there. I am a diamond member of Accor and I have never been treated like this by any Sofitel Hotel which I choose to stay at when I travel, my stay was for 8 days. 3. There were charges on my account which were not from myself 4. I had to request to have my bed linen changed as it was appauling with stains on it "not from me" 5. I called room service on many occasions and unable to get a hold of anyone on the phone, I tried to order off the t.v. but this would not work either. This is unacceptable ! 6. My aircon was turned off once the room was cleaned and when I entered it took quite some time to cool down as I was staying in a suite (lounge, dining, bedroom, bathroom). I am appauled at how I was treated as not only a diamond member but how anyone can be treated this way. I was with my daughters mother who is a chief commercial officer for Kempinski and she was appauled at the service I received and how I was spoken to as a loyal Accor member Regards, Tammy B. 04…

A two night stay this time for a Birthday Celebration for my companion. As we have come accustomed to everything either met or exceeded our expectations including the additional birthday wishes. We used our Suite Night upgrade entitlement for a Junior Suite and appreciated the more spacious room for the 2 nights. As always we were well received in the Club Lounge and once again special thanks to Elmo, Mai and Phoung. We are already looking forward to another 2 night stay at the end of next week with our excuse for this stay being to see "Hamilton".

It was an enjoyable stay overall. The location was great and I was given an early check-in and slightly late check-out. I was also given a level 32 room which was lovely. The staff members were friendly and professional. I requested well in advance for early check-in/late check-out and anything complimentary that could be arranged as it was for celebrating my birthday, however I couldn't get any advance confirmation. I note that the room was mostly in great condition and good level of cleanliness. However I note that some areas like the hole for excess water in the sink was mouldy, dust was visible on the floor on the side of the bath tub that was not accessible, the toiletries box appeared old/slightly dusty.

My Wife & I needed a little R & R holiday after spending 3 weeks with our eldest son, his wife, his family “out-laws”, and our “full-on” grandsons during the recent festive season and new year on the Gold Coast and in neighbouring Brisbane. So, on returning to Sydney, the recently established ‘Sofitel’ Accor Hotel on ‘Darling Harbour’ seemed a like “perfect fit”……..which it really was. Despite some ‘Covid’ restrictions still in force which had unfortunately resulted in the ‘in-house’ restaurant ‘Atelier’ known for its excellent French cuisine remaining closed; at least the Bars were open with limited but interesting “Bar Food”. However, it was our King size Bedded Room on the 27 Floor which was the real “Piece de Resistance”. “A Room with SOME View” from “Packer’s Pecker” near “Barangaroo”, across the harbour over Pyrmont, past the ‘Anzac Bridge’ and the Fish Markets, westwards over the Western Suburbs and finally to the lower slopes of the ‘Blue Mountains’ was just “MAGNIFIQUE”. The outdoor Pool was also excellent early every morning. Q. Why no power point near the “Tea & Coffee Unit” for the Kettle & “Nespresso” machine ? Had to use the “Vanity Basin “ area which already had enough on it including the hair-dryer; but at least ‘Accor’ has finally got it right re. the design of the “Walk-in Robe” with its Luggage Rack Shelf area and numerous drawers under. Certainly enough hanging and drawer space for clothes and storage. Also much better with separate commodious Shower and separate WC. The Breakfasts were very good and full of choices, complemented by friendly and attentive staff; but for us the Brisbane ‘Sofitel’ Breakfasts still take a lot of equalling and beating. Nevertheless, the ‘Sofitel’ Darling Harbour is definitely “up there with some of the world’s best 5 star hotels”. Looking forward to re-visiting and especially the re-opened ‘Atelier’ restaurant on the “Death of ‘Covid’ and its restrictive ways”. Good Job ‘Accor’ and congratulations to a courteous and friendly team of staff. That is what “makes” a good hotel.

This was our 4th stay in your hotel. We have always enjoyed our stay immensely but this time it was disappointing. We like to enjoy Club assess so booking that is a must. I found the room we had a lot smaller than previous rooms (for approximately the same rate). The view is always spectacular at the Club but the food this time was almost inedible. We like to have our breakfast in the Club and have a hot breakfast to order. My companion ordered the eggs Benedict and unfortunately it was cold. The toast was difficult to cut being dry and cold. The ham was not as previously, ham off the bone, the tomato was very dry and also cold. The eggs were hard boiled and cold. The sauce was the only ingredient that seemed ok but also cold. My companion only ate about a quarter of it.

We were warmly welcomed and extended every courtesy we expected and more. Mitch, Francisco and Julien ensured we were taken care of from checkin through to our departure. Lounge staff were courteous, polite and engaging showing Accor hospitality - recognising us and making us comfortable and welcome. Holly ensured we were never thirsty and went the extra mile.

unfortunately bedside touch panel night light kept going on and off. We tried to ring service but no answer. Reported to front desk on check out. Found solution by covering with bath towel during night.

Perfect location with everything at your door. The services within the hotel are great and the look and feel of the place is extremely comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the outdoor pool area which has a fantastic bar area that provides a great drink menu along with some tasty food.

We totally understand that during this time of omicron everywhere is understaffed. In saying that we had high hopes for staying here. Staff could have been more attentive, rooms were worn a little more than expected and the pool lounges need upgrading. We were very happy with any food or drink service. We had buffet breakfast, room service and dined and drank at the Atlier champagne bar which were all amazing experiences and quality. Used the pool multiple times a day. Loved the view.

Had a staycation in Darling harbour. Greeted by all staff, asked concierge if we could leave bags as we were too early to check in. He suggested we may be able to check in, Renato at front desk was friendly and professional, giving a true 5 star experience, a gentleman too

Wonderful stay but it was disappointing that the restaurant was closed the whole 5 days of our stay. You could see the problems Covid was having but the staff tried really hard. The club was open and was great the staff were amazing. Thanks to Elmo and everyone there.
