This stay highlighted serious operational and leadership failures that are completely inconsistent with a five-star hotel. The Concierge function is fundamentally broken. Staff appeared disengaged, poorly led, and uninterested in assisting guests. No proactive service was offered, no assistance with luggage was provided, and at times no Concierge staff were available at all. This level of indifference is unacceptable at any luxury property. A room change was required due to a malfunctioning air-conditioning unit. Despite this being a hotel-caused issue, it took over an hour to relocate us. When the matter was escalated to the hotel manager, there was no intervention or accountability — only a dismissive response that Concierge was “busy” and that we would need to wait. This response clearly demonstrates a lack of leadership and guest-focused decision-making. The underlying issue is not individual staff but management competence. There is a clear absence of direction, ownership, and service standards. The operation feels unmanaged, with staff left without guidance and guests left without support. At times, the experience bordered on farce rather than luxury hospitality. Finally, the absence of complimentary water in the room reinforces the impression of cost-cutting over guest experience — an odd choice for a brand positioning itself as premium. This property is not delivering a five-star experience in any meaningful way. Until senior management addresses the evident leadership and service failures, this hotel should not be marketed as luxury

World class hotel in premium Sydney location close to everything. Love the whole French feel to staying with Sofitel and service was simply outstanding. Club Millesime on level 35 takes you to another world and really made the entire stay super special.

The Sofitel brand emphasizes "Cousu Main", which means service from the heart, with a joyful, empathetic, tailored and personal experience. That is EXACTLY what I got during both of my stays there eith EVEEY staff member. The staff who most defines these qualities is a concierge named Ian. It is evident that representing the hotel is his priority. I can only say Bravo, Ian and Bravo, Sofitel for having this kind of staff!!

Everything you would expect from a 5 star Sofitel. We did arrive late however as a Platinum ALL member the receptionist guided us the 35th floor lounge to check in.
