Don’t stay here for families. We booked the family package with interconnecting rooms only to be told on arrival there is no connecting rooms. So spent the trip crammed into one room. False advertising and blatant lying from the front of hotel staff.

First time being back here after 8 years, my check in was an absolute disaster, once I checked in the room I had booked and paid for and requested specifically was not it. Luxury Corner Room with Harbour View. I had a view of a construction building with no privacy and half a harbour room. Once I complained about this politely, the lady from reservations Evette helped and showed me an alternative room, I went to have a look and funny enough I was shown a standard room which was half the price of my initial booking. Ridiculous shouldn’t you be showing or suggesting a room type that is equal to my initial booking? After this I had requested to speak with a manager, i was furious, tired as I just arrived off a flight from Melbourne, weather was hot, lobby was chaos and busy. I had a duty manager by the name Binay come and speak to me… Binay took the time to listen and understand me with compassion, unlike most places I didn’t even have to explain myself and beg for understanding. Binay told me to wait 5-10 mins and he will work something out. 5 mins later, Binay took me up to a room and upgraded me to a Junior Suite (gorgeous) which was worth much more then my original room type which was $1,157 for 2 nights. He asked me my thoughts and apologised for the experience and made sure I was calm and relaxed he even went to conversate about my day and trip to deter any further stress. I was shocked at the service I received but so appreciative to have crossed paths with his warm nature and friendliness. Binay turned a negative experience and start to my trip into something positive that put a smile on my face! Thank you so much for everything you have done Binay, your service and nature was outstanding and you are a true role model to your team! I’ll definitely be back for my next stay. Thank you!

Very average was expecting so much more. 1 hour wait for room service to be served cold food , had to ask numerous times for service in the champagne bar as no staff came in our direction. Left my pillow for the run around from front desk to housekeeping waiting 2 hours for someone to find it and return to my friends room. Wasn’t told they where building / construction in front of the hotel pool , not pleasant looking at a crane the my whole stay, won’t honestly be back to this Sofitel .

Being passed between departments and waiting an extended period for resolution would have been frustrating, and I regret that this was not handled with the urgency and ownership it deserved.
