The pool was closed on the day we wanted to use it. The view has become obscured. We didn’t receive a welcome gift just water. No recognition for being gold members. Food was good at atelier.

Sofitel Darling Harbour is definitely one of the best hotels in Sydney. I did book a Prestige Suite - Darling Harbour View. For starters, the room was immaculate. As expected the view is amazing! Room was 74m2, massive for 2pax. It has a living area and separate walkin bathroom with its own TV. The amenities are all provided. Bed is a little hard, but it was ok for me. The pillows were great! Everything is essentially provided including umbrella, slippers and even a yoga mat and dumbbells. For the Club Millesime, it was a bit small, but the food there is really good and would match the quality you would expect from Sofitel in Asian countries. I attended the afternoon tea, late afternoon canape and breakfast. The canape is basically a drink all you can alcohol and cocktail if you are into that else, food is good. Breakfast, they had a good spread plus ala carte order which made the dining experience great. Staff in the club lounge is good and attentive. The only downside was the check-in. There was a significant wait time (time was about 1pm). There was about 5 groups teying to check-in and only 1 staff. This was remedied soon after and check-in was smooth. Big shout out to Mathew from front desk! He lead me to club lounge and after 20 mins of waiting, they had him come up and help with the backlog. He remembered me by face and explained everything very clearly. (This is my first time in the hotel). For check-in and checkout process is quick and easy. For the facilities, there's a pool and decent gym. We ate at the Atelier. Food was good but just remember it has 3 hats therefore a price tag of one. Luckily, i had the accor explorer therefore got my discount. The hotel is situated in the heart of Darling Harbour and easily accessible. Also the tram is right beside it. Last but not least, I also want to have a big shout out to the club millesime for the welcome amenity prep, i had informed them this was a precelebration and that i do not drink alcohol. They definitely ensured i got exactly that and made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible! Amazing staff!

We had a wonderful stay at SDH thank you, as always. It is our favourite hotel of all Accor properties we have stayed at worldwide and has been since the hotel opened. The only thing that spoiled the experience after this stay is that we may have been given the wrong information it seems about our status points accrual. On arrival, we checked in with the Club M on level 35. We paid for the stay, partly using points. Twice my wife and I confirmed with the gentleman serving us that status points will accrue for the whole cost of the stay as promised on booking even though we part paid with points. However at this stage this does not appear to be the case. The reason that this is so important is that we carefully planned our investment for the year in stays in Accor properties (~$11500AUD) to accrue the necessary 14000 status points to renew our platinum status. This is very distressing to us, particularly since we paid an average of $700 per night, and booked the stay well in advance.

No bottled water in the room, no turn down service. Was allocated an accessable room. The TV controls were hopeless.the room (2415) was very bland and beige. Nothing exiting about the room at all except the view. Breakfast was very very nice both mornings.

Construction surrounding the pool area not advertised by the hotel affecting stay

There are very large construction works on properties immediately surrounding the pool area. This significantly affected our experience. We were not made aware of the construction around the pool area when we made the booking. There were several other issues specific to our stay that I have tried to discuss with the hotel but have been connected with an AI assistant which is very frustrating and disappointing. If someone more senior from the hotel could please contact me that would be appreciated.
