I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Having stayed in many hotels, I found the Novotel was the only one to provide a snack with which to have one's cup of teea. A small detail, but an important one.

Once the balcony doors are shut - there is a gap of some sort that permits a wailing sound in the room. The only way that the sound can be stopped is to open the balcony doors. There are no insect screens and there are multiple bird life which roost on the balconies (sea gulls, pigeons and yellow crested cockatoos). The noise is deafeningly loud. It is impossible to sleep. I was so sleep deprived that at 1.00am - I asked Reception if I could move rooms. I was taken to several rooms - same floor - same sort of room - a balcony with a sea view. ALL rooms had the same building fault. It sounded as if there was drone, or a loud air-conditioner right outside each room. However, once the sliding door was opened - the noise stopped - so this is clearly a building design fault. The weather was calm. There was no wind. Heaven knows what the level of the disruptive noise would be - if there was any level of wind!! I will never book into this hotel again. I was unable to sleep for the two nights that I was there.

The disturbances you encountered in your room, particularly the noise impacting your sleep, are very concerning. We understand how important a comfortable and quiet environment is, and I apologise that we were unable to provide this during your stay. Your comments have been passed on to our Engineering team for thorough review, as this is certainly not the level of comfort we aim to deliver. I also regret that other aspects of your room and stay did not meet expectations. Please rest assured that your feedback regarding amenities, room presentation, and in-room services has been shared with the relevant teams for improvement. While we have moved toward more sustainable practices, all single-use toiletries and amenities—including shower caps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, robes, and slippers—remain available upon request. I am sorry this was not made clear to you. We understand your concerns regarding value and the overall impression this stay left you with. Your comments are extremely important in helping us identify areas where we must do better. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention. Although we recognise the impact this experience had, we do hope you may consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide a much more comfortable and enjoyable stay.
