I’ve stayed at Ibis Birmingham New Street many times over the years, and each and every time I do I always encounter great service from the team and my stay is always enjoyable. During recent visits I wish to highlight exceptional service received by Sakshi, Catarina and Claudia during the day and Samira during the night, all of whom are an asset to the team - they’re super attentive, a joy to talk to, and go above and beyond to make my stay the best possible each and every time. This hotel continues to be my go to choice for when visiting Birmingham with friends - it’s great quality for the price and conveniently located.

Samanthkc Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

I had read the reviews before staying and I’m glad I did as the building inside is dark and dated and reeks of underinvestment Despite that the staff are delightful and friendly , the rooms are spotlessly clean On the up side - really comfy bed and the most comfy pillows have had in ages - they seem to have put soundproofing in - I found the room no more noisy than other hotels - there is compact storage - delightful staff - spotless rooms - basic buffet breakfast - they respected my ‘don’t clean the room’ sign where so many hotels don’t . We saved a tiny bit of the environment :-) - it close to the station and the main shopping centre On the down side - only one lift working - you have to swipe your key several times to use the lift and enter your room (upgrade this !) - lobby dark and awful choice of carpet - very 1990s - no vegan sausages at breakfast - no coffee on second morning - not sure about the location - not the most salubrious . Could easily not have felt safe . Was it clean - yes Was the room nice - compact, clean and very basic Were the pillows good - superb Breakfast - not good for non meat eaters and vvv limited fresh fruit Would I recommend it - no Would I stay again - no

Overall a good stay. Good location close to New Street railway station. Room never fully dark during the night; perhaps blackout curtains would be a good idea. Long waits for the one operational lift, but such is life!

The customer service and experience of being there were good however the building is dated and needs work. One lift wasn’t working and I was initially given a room where the window was not in a good condition and the outside air could flow inwards which would make the air conditioning pointless. Thankfully I was offered another room without delay and the staff were very positive in how they handled things..

We stayed here for 1 night as we were going to a gig at the O2. Perfect location. 5 min walk from Birmingham New Street and a 2 min walk from the 02. Room was clean and was perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was plenty full and was a buffet so eat as much as you like (which we did). Would definitely stay here again if we have another gig at the 02.
