It was good. I did have a problem with the room heating but this was fixed after a day. There was an insect in the room but I reported this. They said this was a kind of fly that you get in Augsburg.

very small rooms, with no amenities, breakfast was cheap and very little options... Honestly, one of the worse places I've stayed... even worse than some Ibis Budget (where I paid five time less than what I paid for the stay in Ibis Augsburg)

There were three aspects which lead me to select 4 as my overall experience: 1) As soon as I entered the room for the first time, when checking the bathroom, I noticed that there was still a little bit of hair from the previous guest in the shower. I understand that sometimes, this is extremely difficult to completely eliminate, so I was okay with that at that moment. 2) After walking around the city in the evening, when I got back to the hotel, I asked at the reception if they had any kind of dental kit, as I had forgotten to pack my toothbrush and paste. I would even pay for this kit if it was not complimentary. However, to my surprise, there were no kits left in stock. A chain as big as Ibis (and all of the Accor Hotels as well), I would not expect NOT to have such a basic item. After all, I remember reading in the room that there was a 15 minute satisfaction policy, in which all our needs could be met in up to 15 minutes. That as another point, but I was also willing to let that go. 3) However, with this third point, there was not a way to let go. In the middle of the night - it must have been around 3 or 4 am - I woke up to the sound of the door to my room closing. At first, I was confused to what was happening, and it took me some minutes to understand that someone had entered my room, turned on the lights, and possibly realized that they were in the wrong room. The question now is: how did this person enter? After all, can we simply open any door in the hotel with any key card? Needless to say that it took me some 20 minutes to relax again and be able to sleep again. Moreover, after I came back in the morning to my room - before check out - my key card was not working, which leads me to believe that indeed there was someone else with the code to my room. Now, I did not have any of my personal belongings touched and I do not notice anything missing, but to me, this is a serious security breach. I was not able to lock the door (only close it shut); there were no safety break on the door to stop the door from completely opening; therefore, my night sleep was not the best in the world. The reason why I did not mark 1 or 2 in my satisfaction scale is that the staff, despite all the problems, was extremely friendly and the options for the breakfast were amazing.

Very close to the railway station, so convenient for daily excursions, and not too far from the old town and its restaurants. Room was quite small, especially the bathroom, but it had everything that we needed - a good shower and a very comfortable bed. A safe in the room would have been helpful. Breakfasts were a very good selection of juices, fruit salad, cereals, scrambled egg, bacon, ham, cheese, breads and a waffle maker. An excellent, convenient budget hotel.

Stressful Stay with Tiny Overpriced Room.

Had a terrible experience with the system and if possible DON'T book online as the system may capture a different booking date and don't allow user to make any changes afterwards. We checked 15 - 19 October 2019 and put in remark on our arriving time until we made the payment. Everything went smoothly but after we made the payment, the confirmation letter came into our mailbox and the reservation date is now stated as 15 -19 September 2019 (That is so wrong!). Tried call the customer service and they blame you for making wrong reservation. Not trying to help but kept decline your call halfway listening to our explanation (Very Rude). After several calls, the customer service pushed us away by telling us to call the hotel directly ourselves and not even tell us the contact number! Luckily, we managed to find the contact number from the invoice that emailed to us. We call the hotel and the reservation department are kind enough to help us change the date back to the correct one and unfortunately the price is now raised to almost 3x more expensive. Besides that, there is 1 nights (16-17 Oct 2019) in between the reservation is not available and we have to find our own accomodation. We have no other option and were not allowed to get refund so we have to top up for them to secure our stay. When we arrive, the staff is being friendly and helpful, the check-in and check-out are done and swiftly. But, only now they telling us there are room for the 1 night with additional few hundred euros. At this moment, I go speechless... I reject politely and just stay to our plan to check-in on 15-16 Oct 2019 and 17-19 Oct 2019. Finally, we checked in our room but the room and toilet are so tiny, we can't even placed more than 2 luggage on the floor. We have to stacked up our luggage on the stool provide and need to squeeze in in order to take shower. The hotel is very near to the Augsburg Hbf and major tourism attraction (walking distance) but quite noisy at night and early in the morning. Only the breakfast break-even all those bad experience we had, served in simple but acceptable ways since they have scramble egg, bacon and boiled egg, Coffee, Tea or Milk is all there for us to refill. The freshly baked croissant is the best! Will need to reconsider if we were to come back here again...

Frustrating as usual. The bathroom is so small it's a joke. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are much too high and I get a headache every time I stay with you. The personnel ask me to fill in my address etc every single time I stay with you although we book online and you have all out details several times over. The personnel Friday nights at 11 when we arrive are not exactly welcoming. The breakfast staff are nice. The proximity to the main station is the only reason I stay with you.

We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time and the helpful lady at the check in desk got us checked in early to allow us to drop our bags off before heading out on an adventure. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained, very comforting to stay in.

Dear Ibis, I have stayed in the Ibis Augsburg Hauptbahnhof quite a few times over the last ten years I have been living in Germany, as well as other Ibis' around Germany, in Dubai and have generally been happy with the quality of the hotels and the service. This time, however, I have a major beef with the behaviour of one of the staff at my stay over the weekend. I don't even know if I can blame this particular staff member as it seems to be a very bad customer service policy in place. I was in Augsburg for a wedding last Friday. On Thursday night (22.03.2019) I was scheduled to check in. Because of a missed connection, I travelled 12 hours overnight and arrived at 5:30am the next morning. I checked out on Sunday at 5:15am. On the way back from the wedding, in which the transport provided was a private bus and I lost my bank-card and phone. I was able to book a train trip home with bank transfer, but by Sunday morning I only had 20€ in my wallet and no card to withdraw any money. Because I had paid in advance, so I thought there would be no issues, but on check-out they said I had to pay 12€ for breakfast. I had not ordered breakfast either on the internet, on the the forms or verbally. I paid the whole amount for three nights on check-in, Friday morning at 5:30am before I went to bed. The ceremony at the Standesamt was at 8:30am, so I didn't have time to sit down for breakfast on Friday. Sunday morning I was taking a 5:40am train, so breakfast didn't make sense either. I repeat, I did not want or was able to eat breakfast. Plus, if I had ordered breakfast, I would have paid on check-in with my bank card and the rest of the room when it was claimed I ordered breakfast. Basically, I was told by the man on reception that was in the system, there was nothing he could so I had to pay. Full-stop. I explained I didn't have enough cash on me and I was told if I can't pay, they would have to call the police. Let me just emphasise that point again: they made a mistake and overcharged me, and when I pointed out their mistake, they threatened to call the police. This is unacceptable policy. There are lots of different ways you could charge me if you felt compelled to do so (even though you had no right). You had my credit card on file. You had my full address, passport information, phone number - you could quite easily send me an invoice. If I had bought one extra drink, I would not have been able to pay the account. As it was, I was lucky I could buy a sandwich for breakfast on the train trip back - I hope the irony is not lost here. I hope you will do something to improve this sort of behaviour. I would also like the 12€ back. I'm not normally this rude, but I am not usually this angry. Apart from this particular staff member, I was generally happy with the state of the room and the rest of the staff. The internet is a problem - it wasn't really useable in my room and I had to go to the foyer. The phone also wouldn't dial out of my room - I followed directions (I pressed 0 before I dialed my number), asked for help at reception, got told to try again and just gave up. I would appreciate a response.
