Could be better with cleaninnes, Pool fully booked for the day of arrival and next morning, even though not mentioned anything on the app or when searching about pre-booking process. When checked at times would be either empty either 2 people swimming disappointing for the kids

Right in the city centre so easy to get around. Foyer nice. Staff courteous but not particularly friendly. There was a spinner on the counter to win perks like an upgrade/free breakfast but when I let my son have a go (each time winning something) his win was completely ignored by the staff member (tried it with two different ones). Not sure what the purpose of having a competition was if nobody was planning to honour any wins. Room felt grimey, was very small and only instant coffee provided. I was a bit surprised not to have a coffee machine in a 4* hotel. Shower was fine. Room was unbearably hot - none of us got any sleep. Staff said there was nothing they could do so we just had to put up with it. Pool felt very dirty - slimey underfoot and a grey scum ring all along the waterline.

On arrival we were told swimming pool needs to be booked but nothing available for the day, no problem understandable. We booked for the following day and the steam room didn’t work I called from the pool phone which I didn’t work or wasn’t attended to, then from my mobile and a maintenance person was sent who told me it’s working perfectly but the system resets itself every 4-6 hours so there’s nothing he can do about it. Went the following day and it didn’t work again. Called and they said someone will come, someone did come but to get me out of the pool saying our dog was in the room and couldn’t be- our god is good as gold will not make any noise unless a stranger enters the room- no reason to enter our room as we were checking out. On asking why they entered the room they said they didn’t know who did but the checked the system for the dog- it would be have been nice if they checked the steam room. We later figured out it was a constant problem and many people had complained In the breakfast room, the water jar was broken from the top and I had to request them to change them as it was a healthy and safety risk- an adult might notice bits of glass but for a child this might be difficult. We were told we will be fined for exiting the car park without paying even though we came back as our stay hadn’t ended (on check in we were told to pay when we finally leave) Overall it wasn’t a great experience, we’d planned a hiking trip and hence booked the hotel to relax in the pool and steam after, had the hotel mentioned about their booking system for the pool (which btw had 2-3 people most of the time and on occasion it was empty but we weren’t allowed in- if a booking system is created then it should be managed well) and the steam not working I would have booked this hotel as it didn’t serve the purpose of our stay

Stayed for 1 night for the Sheffield Half Marathon. Great location near to the race village and close to loads of restaurants and bars. Really good breakfast with lots of choice. Room was comfy and clean but the hot water was a bit on the cool side, plus felt the room could have done with some brighter lighting .
