Hotel had problems taking holding deposit on Amex although Visa was fine, no explanation offered Housekeeping insisted on servicing the room while we were in it, wouldn’t come back 20 minutes later and didn’t replenish tea/coffee /water so none available for second night of our stay. Breakfast hot food was congealed and the same food left overs reappeared on our second morning Dinner in the restaurant was dry, inedible and unappealing to the eye. We only ate In because of poor weather, never again!

I usually book into the ibis but eat at the mercure. This year we thought we would try the mecure. The room we had was very noise - I think it must be located underneath the bar area and there were chair and footsteps late into the evening whilst we tried to sleep. The tv didn’t work (although this was quickly remedied by staff), there were no coffee cups in the room and we had to go to reception, we wanted to take a coke from the fridge but there was no opener! The breakfast was poor - no labels on items like yoghurt and very limited choice eg no boiled eggs as at the ibis - actually generally worse than the ibis used to be. On the plus side staff are always helpful and pleasant - especially the young waiter with the hair tied up - soooo helpful. The car park is a massive bonus and the location is great. We have stayed many times before and will again - hopefully this was just a one off!

Good Hotel, with friendly staff, and a nice tidy condition, friendly staff. The underground parking was okay, reasonably easy to navigate. Good breakfast with options, and we liked the bar area. The hotel is an easy walk into the centre of Rouen. There was no Wifi on the night we were there, although we later found we could use the IBIS Wifi
