ibis Styles Rouen Centre Cathedrale Hotel 3 stars

Misleading about parking and room very small and basic.

Just one night but everything was good...starting with the receptionist Lambert, who was very helpful and friendly. He had answers for every question we had and was so. Ice and willing to help us in any way. It got our stay off to a great start.

The hotel has been revamped internally in a rather modern but bizarre style. The bathroom was small and the shower was particularly petite. The exterior of the hotel was being repainted but a coat of paint cannot cover up the poor state of the building.

Small cramped room, scaffolding outside - moved to an even smaller room, tiny shower 60cm wide with a control that projected 15cm, hopeless. Parking 15euros in nearby underground car park - misleading on the Ibis website. Not up to the usual Styles standards at all.

Bedroom, shower room/toilet all spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Adequate clothes hanging and shelf space. Ideal for the one night stop over

Stayed as part of a group of bikers - had a great room on the top floor which overlooked the river with a balcony. The man at the front desk was very good - and would do anything to help! Also could park the bikes outside the reception window which was great!

This is a small hotel, which whilst relatively old has been well refurbished. Comfortable bed, reasonable size room, and in our case a balcony looking out towards the cathedral. The smallest lift I've ever been in (and I've been in some small ones). Reception was very friendly and helpful. Free tea and coffee in the lobby was appreciated. The breakfast was limited, and no real option for those needing a gluten free diet (but then most of the places we visited in France had similar issues).

We found a pair of men's boxer shorts on the floor when we arrived. The door to the bathroom was very difficult to handle. The room was very expensive for its poor quality. However, the receptionist was extremely friendly.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Staff great. Breakfast good. Everything we needed. Room struggled from existing architecture, particularly bathroom where shower very tight to get into. Everything very clean and comfortable.

Expected a nice hotel with a view to the cathedral, but found a view of a parking lot instead. Pictures advertised different rooms as well. Rooms are quite old and worn out. Besides there is only a small space for breakfast and it’s not cleaned well: the room not maintained good and dirty cutleries and cups. Rooms are very noisy as well. The only positive is that the location is in the city centre.

The hotel was a bit difficult to find due to inconspicuous signage (probably because of the building work at the hotel). Room was clean, very good bed, bathroom was a little small. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The location and the staff was good but the overall look and feel of the place was poor.

Very mixed . The receptionist was pleasant and helpful but felt too few staff around for breakfast. I.e. able to keep up with a lot of guests at once .

The room was really tiny, gaudily decorated and not very comfortable. The breakfast was good

We had a small problem locating the hotel via satnav, a sign at the rear of the building would solve this problem (this may have been covered up by scaffolding). Whilst the building is currently being refurbished our rooms were OK but obviously needed a final snagging visit from the builders. The staff were fine and helpful and breakfast was good. The hotel location was good and met our expectations.
