It was very warm inside the room and when I informed the reception about that they didn't seem bothered that I was feeling not at ease in the room. They just told me the heating was on since it was October (it was 25C outside!) and yes, it just the way it is. I find it not acceptable for a so called 4 star hotel that there is no way to get some cooling in the room when it is warm. I also think that this hotel needs some renovations especially in the public parts. Restrooms next to the restaurant look miserable and really old. It is very clean though. A shame for this hotel so well situated with a beautiful view from the room. Rooms are very clean and service is good. Staff is friendly except when it comes to help with the heat in the room.

We stayed at the hotel for one night as we’re flying out of Montpelier, the location is wonderful. It’s very easy to find on the front of the harbour with private parking. The bed was comfortable and the balcony perfect to view the harbour and sit to catch some rays. The staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We ate at the restaurant which was superb and delicious. Sadly the hotel itself is a little tired, a few chips in the sides in the room, the carpets are very old and look dirty, the air on didn’t work and the phone looked like it had come from the 90’s. Unfortunately as the air con was not working we got very hot in the night and my husband stupidly opened the balcony door for some air….huge mistake…we became a buffet for mosquito’s! They were brutal and subsequently we got very little sleep.

Our 1 night stay turned into 2 nights after a health scare required a nightime hospital call out. Hotel and Night staff were very helpful. Hotel is in a good location my one suggestion is that the hotel restaurant menu could offer a little more choice, nevertheless my steak was excellent.

Hotel in need of renovation, room and decor tatty and dated, door to mini bar draged on carpet, over flow in bath room sink just covered floor in water not plumb. Bed and bedding clean and confortable Carpets in hallway need replacing
