Ad usual, I enjoyed the stay at Mercure Antibes, as I am a recurrent customer, for business reasons. Location and rooms are good. I have though a few suggestions for improvement: 1. I needed some replacement batteries for an appliance of mine, but the hotel concierge couldn’t help me, and just offered information where I could find them (unfortunately, not having a car, I could only get there by walking about 20 minutes, one way, not counting the fact that this could only be done during working hours, when I was busy). It would be good if the hotel keeps a stock of such small commodities, to best serve customers. Otherwise, in case this represents a cost and management of stock issue, it would be also a good idea to propose the customer to get his/her needs later in the day, and send someone, when going for other errands, to get the needed commodity. 2. The rooms are very good and well equipped, they would be though great if also provided with an ironing board and iron for “emergency” ironing (this is often found in many hotels) 3. It is not possible to get room service beyond the hotel restaurant’s kitchen closure time. This is a bit disappointing, because it would be one of the reasons for having such a service: if for any reason I get late at the hotel without having had food, it would be a great service to find some (even limited) possibility to get food also outside restaurant’s opening hours. This was not possible even informing in advance of the situation. 4. There are a chair and table in the room, but they are more leisure-oriented, so to say, more apt to relax than to work (the usage for work with a laptop is not very comfortable). The hotel is expensive, but the rooms are shabby. Some of the personnel was very rude, but others were kind.
