The customer service at this location was very poor - aside from one, the staff acted as if we were an inconvenience for the most basic requests like asking to retrieve our bags. The air conditioner was blowing out a foul old cigarette smoke and mould smell, so thick you could taste it in the air, and when we asked for it to be turned off we were told it was controlled centrally and there was nothing they could do. Whatever was in the A/C unit had both of us coughing all night and needing to use my inhaler. I would have left if there were any other rooms available in the city, but unfortunately the football was on and nothing was available. As if that wasn't bad enough, the shower did not drain, so the bathroom and hallway were completely flooded each time we used it, and no effort was made by staff to try to fix the problem - we were reluctantly given some towels to mop up the floor ourselves and left to sort it out. By the end of our two night stay, the bathroom floor had a mountain of soaking wet and smelly towels. Not the ideal getaway for my birthday. I definitely wouldn't stay at an ibis hotel again, considering we paid over 100 Euro a night for a worse experience than a youth hostel.

Despite my room being non-smoking, my bedsheets smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. When I asked for new sheets, they still smelled like smoke (though a bit less so) and had holes and stains in one corner. My room looked out onto the roof, so it was loud with the window open at night and there were frequently people walking around right outside (like when I came out of the shower!). But breakfast was decent and the staff were friendly.
