My wife & I love booking a break in the Novotel Hotel London West (Hammersmith) as the staff on reception are excellent, the rooms are always comfortable & the location near Hammersmith Bus & Tube Station is brilliant for getting around London. We have returned quite a few times over the past 5 years. However, on this occasion we arrived at noon (we always book car parking in the underground car park because it is so convenient) & not unexpectedly our room wasn't ready so we left our case in the boot of our car & travelled by bus into London. When we got back at 4pm we went to reception to book in again with a female member of staff & was given the keycard for a room on the 8th floor. Sadly when the 2 of us unlocked the door to the room we were presented with towels on the floor & 2 slept in beds so it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned & ready for us. So we had to go back down in the lift to reception where the same female member of staff apologised, gave us 2 tickets for free drinks at the bar & organised another room, not an upgrade but a similar room to the one we had originally booked again on the 8th floor. So we went back up in the lift, located the room & this time the room was fully satisfactory. A surprisingly hiccup. It didn't spoil our break but the to-ing & fro-ing meant we were pushed for time as we were meeting friends down by the river in the evening at 5pm & had to rush to get there.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff friendly and professional. We received a free upgrade as our rooms weren't ready- a lovely treat. Food was very good in the restaurant.

3rd stay in this hotel. As always, extremely pleased with our stay. But we were put into one of the “executive suites”. Sadly, the cleaning left a lot to be desired. Stains on the table from the previous guest and grime marks on the shaver socket took the shine off being in an “executive” suite.

Great location, fun bar and restaurant with excellent opening hours. Lovely staff. My room was clean, but quite tired - damp stains in the ceiling of the bathroom and the carpet a little stained. But it never felt unclean. The bed was comfy.
