I had good experience with Mercure hotels before, so I was expecting this experience to also be positive. Overall it was fine to stay, except few major issues that letf me dissapointed : Pool- Much smaller than its shown the photo. Its can barely fit few people in before it becomes uncomfortable to swim in. Its not a standard sized pool in length or width. Not very clear why the pool wasnt bigger given so much space available to build or expand it. Also the pool is directly 1.30 deep so small kids cannot stand in it. Also, why clean the pool in the middle of the day when people can go for a swim and for 2 HOURS! Why not do it in the night or early before you open it? Walls- very thin walls. We could hear all loud neighbours around us, including one with a dog that kept barking near the door. Comfort is gone the moment one would like to fall asleep and all noise is heard around the room. Construction- Nowhere during the booking or website visit were we told that whole week construction will be going on. Whole week we couldnt walk through the hallway without interrupting someone painting or fixing something. Friday morning someone woke us up with very loud painting activity on the walls. Cleaning- Regardless of staff shortage, rooms must be cleaned on daily basis if the customer wants that. Here its done AFTER 3rd night. So unless you ask yourself, nobody will give new towels or clean the sheets for 3 days. GYM- This one has to be the worst kept secret because why is this advertised as if there is a whole fitness space available? It has 3 machines in a space of around 8m2 room. No freeweights and a giant pillow on the floor. From 3 machines one was a treadmill, one was a bike and one was a multi functional workout machine. The workout machine was out of service. No water, no towels are provided. Finding the "gym" without any signs or direction is impossible, all doors look same and nothing to show where things are. 25EUR per person per day for breakfast is absolutely ridicilous! You can walk over to a nearby cafe, have a coffee and a sandwich for more than half the price per person.

I arrived at the hotel after having already paid for my reservation through Booking.com. At check-in, I was told that the hotel had not received the payment and was asked to pay again. I showed clear proof that I had already paid, but the staff showed no willingness to help or find a solution. Instead of taking responsibility for resolving the issue with Booking.com, they repeatedly told me that it was my problem because I had booked through Booking.com and that I should deal with Booking.com myself. I felt that the blame was placed entirely on me, even though I had done everything correctly and had proof of payment. There was no understanding, no flexibility, and no effort to support a guest who was caught in the middle of a payment dispute between the hotel and Booking.com. In the end, I was forced to pay the hotel directly despite already having paid through Booking.com. This caused unnecessary stress, wasted a lot of my time, and had a negative impact on my family trip. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I expected professionalism and a genuine effort to resolve the issue, but instead I was left to deal with everything on my own.

This is a lovely hotel that will be even better when the renovations are complete. Your staff, especially the waiting staff, could not do enough for us. They were so helpful and guided us to a temporary dining room as it was too hot for us on the outside terrace.

No notification at the time of the Reservation about the renovations in the restaurant, bar & lounge. Big surprise at arrival on Sunday evening. Also elevator was out of order at arrival and still out of order at departure on Thursday. Breakfast was not at the same standard as during previous visits. the service staff however tried its best.. Regarding the cleaning of the room positive.

The most serious issue was the bathroom: there was a lot of visible mold, especially in the shower, but also elsewhere. That is unacceptable in any hotel, and even more so in a property presented as a 4-star. The staff I dealt with, both by phone and in person, were not welcoming, and communication in English was very difficult, even for basic information. For an international hotel chain, that is disappointing. In the room itself, there was only one power outlet next to the beds in a twin room, which is inconvenient when two guests both need to charge a phone overnight. The pillows were also extremely flat and unsupportive; I had to fold mine several times and even use my coat underneath just to sleep somewhat comfortably. On the positive side, the AC worked and was not too noisy, and the toilet, desk, and mattresses appeared clean, although the mattresses were quite springy. However, because of the mold, poor comfort, and disappointing service, this was far below what I expect from a 4-star hotel. Hygiene alone makes this impossible for me to recommend.

For me after a long road trip, it is always disappointing to hear that "today the restaurant is closed", but I can understand, and my hunger was saved with a pizza from the bar. Something must be put in place in the APP or website , to inform coming visitors that the restaurant is closed !! As I was alone, all lights were not on as on the pictures from the website, so it felt a bit "closed" and I can again understand. Room was 10/10.

A pretty run down Hotel entrance with dozens of cigarette buds and lose debris right in front of the entrance door. The lobby was not well maintained either, untidy burn holes in one sofa. The rooms were a positive surprise, more contemporary. in the morning, the room attendants had blocked the corridor with their (2 or 3?) HSK trolleys and would not make an effort to move them on the side for the guests to pass. No greeting either, hmmm. The breakfast was ok. The check out - no smile, no eye contact, no 'hope, you enjoyed your stay', no 'thank you for staying with us', no 'safe travels', no 'hope to see you again'. Simply transactional. The gentleman, who checked us in at night was the only friendly, accommodating hospitality person we met.

The hotel is all in all good. Well located. The price is good but hotel is a little bit outdated. Breakfast has not many options but nice that they serve salmon.
