All good except the keys stopped working before checkout AGAIN

Poor breakfast organisation. Tables not laid. Had to wait five minutes to get coffee cups (was offered one for a table of five!), cutlery. Plates ran out and were only replaced after ten minutes. Bad smell (from the drains?) in all three bathrooms of the three rooms we reserved. Mosquitos on the terrace follow you into the bar (doors left open). No visible anti-mosquito products. We were all bitten. Needs exterior renovation.

The room did not have air conditioning because of the time of year. Heat was the only option. It was very warm outside, so the room was very warm. If I opened the window I had bugs flying around my head all night long in addition to the bright lights shinning in from outside. I was so warm I was not able to sleep. I was in Bordeaux for work and the company had booked the entire group at this hotel, so I was not able to relocate. The hotel did not have wash clothes but had liquid soap in the shower. This was a first for me. The room also did not have a phone, so I had to walk down to the front desk at 1130pm the first night of my stay to ask about the climate control. That is when I was told to turn the system off because it is only heat this time of year. I spoke to many of my colleagues and they also complained about their room being hot.

Please allow me to clarify a few points that may have influenced your impression. The heating system is not activated at this time of year, as temperatures in Bordeaux generally remain mild, and air conditioning is switched off to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. We understand this may have felt uncomfortable during an unusually warm night. As for the washcloths, it is true that we do not provide them, and to be honest, we didn’t even know hotels still did. We do, however, offer liquid soap and shower gel in dispensers, in line with our eco-responsible policy to reduce single-use items. Lastly, while there are no telephones in the rooms, guests can reach our reception team 24/7 via WhatsApp, ensuring constant availability for any request or assistance. We regret that these details led to such a severe rating, as they don’t reflect the service quality and comfort most of our guests enjoy.
