Pullman Bordeaux Lac Hotel 4 stars

The shower didn't work well, too much noise after 10pm because of the tram. Drinks weren't filled up every day in our fridge.

A warm welcome at this stylish hotel, quickly checked in and informed of bar and restaurant hours. Our room was spotlessly clean and minimalist making us feel safe. Fresh towels and toiletries and beautifully cleaned every day! Great breakfast, still being topped up minutes before the end of service! Nothing too much for any of the bar, restaurant or reception staff. On top of this it was lovely to sit on the terrace by the lively little pool..... sun n down time so close to the hustle and bustle of the beautiful city! Wonderful stay! Thanks :)

The hotel itself is good; well located, nice spacious rooms, but the service is VERY disappointing!

We booked this very last minute and it was one of the only places with a pool left in Bordeaux (it was 40 degrees celsius on the Friday). The pool was great, despite it being quite busy. The bar staff were great, friendly and very patient with our attempts at speaking in french. Besides everyone having to wear masks everywhere and one bottle of sanitiser at the front desk, there didn't seem to be many measures in place in regards to Covid. Towels were left in a massive pile at the pool for hours, plates and glasses everywhere (so no one really cleaning up). I had to work in the room and asked for housekeeping to come back later (and asked through reception as well) but the room wasn't made up. The next day, the beds were made but we still had wine glasses from two nights before in the room. The room also smelled of cigarettes on arrival. Concierge didn't offer us much help in terms of what to see/do, just handing us a booklet on the wine region when we asked which tours they recommended. There's nothing really 'french' about the area so not ideal if you're looking for a classic Bordeaux experience. It felt a bit like a business park or Olympic village. It is a half hour tram (or 15min taxi) into the centre of town which is beautiful and we were very happy to do. We arrived late on the Thursday night and were told by staff that even though the kitchen/main restaurant had closed, room service was open for 24 hours. Due to Covid, room service finishes at 11pm. Completely understand this measure but having heard from staff that it would be open, this was a bit disappointing and we set out on an adventure to McDonald's down the road.

I was a little bit disappointed with the quality of the maintenance of the building and the furniture in the rooms. Also the rooms booked were not available when we arrived but this was solved at the resection who were very nice and very supportive. In the room the shower head was damaged and water came out the top. The furniture showed bad wear and tear and at the window the wood was damaged. Also the balcony that lead to the swimming pool had fake grass and this was loose and presented a serious tripping hazard. The people working at the hotel were great and provided all the service you would expect from Pullman so no complains there.

Despite COVID measures the staff team did everything possible in difficult circumstances. They were friendly and all the appropriate signage was out. We have one meal in the restaurant, temporarily located on the first floor, and it was enjoyable, albeit the menu has been restricted. The hotel is nice but some of the room decor are not as fresh as perhaps the hotel pictures suggest, it is getting on a little in age but don’t let that put you off if you enjoy the Pullman brand. The only stumbling block to a faultless stay is navigating the car park process, which is not well signed and the barrier does not always work with the ticket provided, a minor irritation.

Maybe because we arrived late or because of the COVID but the welcome was not as we are used. We didn't receive any welcome drink voucher or gift. At the check out however we recive a free bottle of water which compensated a bit the disappointed of the evening.

Our stay in Pullman Bordeaux Lac was at the end of our three-week-tour. It offered good parking facilities free of charge and an easy access to the airport . Furthermore it made possible quick visit to the wine areas of Haut Medoc and Saint Emilion.

The room had a cigarette odor. We asked the reception to clean, but still had a residual odor. The restaurant was understaffed. Overall the stay was good but there is opportunities for improvements.

I stayed in the time of Coronavirus so not an easy experience. The room was well-equipped and quiet with a view of the lake. The pool was very public, overlooked by the restaurant, it has no changing room. The restaurant/cafe was not attractive, probably due to changes made for social distancing. Surely this could be improved. I hope to revisit in more normal times.

Considering the circumstances with the corona virus it was fantastic, and I wanted to give a big thank you to the manager Pierre for going through with my booking after all - as it was proving very difficult to find a play to stay on the last night the hotel was open. I think I was the last guest there before the hotel closed. Also a thank you to the young gentleman at the reception/room service who was very kind and gave a very nice Suite upgrade. I will definitely be returning to this property in the future.

Our stay was at a time of Corona virus running wild. We arrived at reception but had to ask for hand sanitizer which was kept out of site below the desk. Same thing in the Bar-restaurant no sanitizer visible. We had a drink in the bar and then ordered some dinner. My wife ordered the Pullman special burger , asking for it to be well done, it was in fact bloody with a cold lump of semi melted cheese on top. She basically got a few french fries and a bread roll for dinner. I was not allowed to complain as she hates confrontation. My dinner was ok however what surprised me was as the waiter cleared the table he took the one bread roll that was left on the table and put it back in the dinner roll basket for some other unsuspecting person to eat. The staff in the bar were certainly not taking corona virus seriously. At breakfast in the morning we sat down but we did not have very much to eat, this was because the waitress working in the restaurant was openly coughing, she made no attempt whatsoever to cover her mouth. It seemed far too risky to sit around and be coughed over. We checked out the bill was over €200 the stay was not worth that in fact it was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had, your staff were not taking the virus threat seriously at all. The receptionist that I paid never once enquired as to had we enjoyed our stay. Again my wife did not want any confrontation especially in a foreign country and so I did not complain. I am glad you are interested in how things went and now you know.

Ideal place to stay on the long journey to and from Spain. Very comfortable and secure.
