Perfect place for a business gathering for several days, with big conference rooms, catering and teambuilding spots , as well as a nice lobby bar and an outdoor pool to finish the day !

First of all the consistent positives: the staff, especially on reception, who are excellent, the quietness of the rooms and the pleasant public spaces. On previous visits I have been upgraded to superior rooms, which was not possible on this occasion, because the hotel was fully booked. I have no complaint to make about this: upgrades are appreciated but not expected and the receptionist even apologised for this not being possible on this visit. Soon after my arrival, a Nespresso machine was placed in my room - an appreciated thought. But the standard rooms are not up to the equivalent in most Novotel and Mercure hotels, though they are certainly larger. There is no small refrigerator, no bottled water and only two small packets of a poor quality instant coffee. I understated the change to the provision of water through an ‘bar d’eau’, the practice in many Accor hotels, but a bottle is usually provided free in the room, with a note that it can be purchased for taking home. The Pullman Bordeaux Lac, charged for the item before you could use it. Even the coffee for the Nespresso machine was poor quality, though I understand the choice of a business which employs handicapped people. The chair was uncomfortable and the room showed lacking maintenance. In my case one of the two washbasins did not produce hot water; in a colleagues room the shower fixture and the lavatory flush mechanism need urgent repair and a sink was blocked. I don’t how long one of the lifts have been out of order, but it was certainly an i convenience when the hotel was full! In spite of the notice, it often claimed to be ‘surcharge’ with four people in it. The lighting was poor: it was impossible to read by both the standard and bedsides lights. This is not four-star quality. Bordeaux is a fairly frequent destination for me (once or twice a year). But I have chosen a Novotel and a Mercure i, Bordeaux when I return from my current stay in La Rochelle and will do so on future visits.

In addition, please note that minibars/fridges are not available in our Superior rooms and are only provided in our Deluxe room category. Your feedback is very valuable and has been shared with the relevant departments to support our ongoing improvement efforts.
