Subject: Feedback on our stay - 23-24 July 2026, confirmation B7G5AGJ0542 Dear General Manager, I stayed at Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes on 23-24 July 2026 (confirmation B7G5AGJ0542), booked through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts under Amex reference ZO-AX10…2. I wanted to share what happened, as I suspect you would want to know. We had chosen the hotel for our anniversary and paid €400 for an upgraded room. On arrival we were told check-in would take around 15 minutes. We ended up waiting two hours in the lobby. When we did get into the upgraded room, the door was broken and the air conditioning was not working. Neither was usable, so we were moved to a basic room and the €400 upgrade fee was refunded. We then had dinner at the hotel, which was meant to be the anniversary meal. It took an hour before our order was taken, and by then our first choices were unavailable. Water took a further 20 minutes and the first dish 45 minutes. The rest never arrived and we cancelled it. Your team refunded our drinks. I want to be fair: the staff on the night did recognise something had gone wrong and issued refunds without argument, and I have no complaint about how individual team members treated us. But the refunds simply returned money for things we did not receive. The evening we had planned was gone. I would appreciate it if you could look into this and let me know what you feel would be an appropriate way to put it right. I would also be interested to know whether the room faults have been resolved and whether the restaurant was short-staffed that evening. For completeness, I am an Accor Gold member and have also passed this to American Express Travel given the Fine Hotels + Resorts booking. Kind regards, Jack C.
