I would not want to detract from the overall experience, which was excellent. The hotel itself, reception we received, and especially the staff were all excellent, but the air conditioning in our room (319, I think) did not seem to work. It seemed OK, but not particularly cool on arrival and when we returned, but we woke around 4am because it was stiflingly hot in the room and there was nothing we could do to change it. We would adjust the settings, and the apparatus would occasionally make some noise, but the room became no cooler. For reference, we have been staying on the region in a property without air conditioning for about two weeks, so we are accustomed to the temperature, even at night. We tried researching online, on the TV directory and by scanning the room directory card, but there was no information about how to use the controller. Eventually, we called reception who said they would reset the system for our room. It's not clear if this happened, or if the room became cooler, but it wasn't noticeable. Eventually, after a poor night's sleep, we woke and took cold showers to cool down. I understand that the area has been unusually hot and there have been other issues with the fires in the region, but cannot see how this would affect the air conditioning. As I say, I would not want this to detract from the rest of our experience at the hotel, which was excellent, but think the feedback is important. It's not clear whether the problem was just in our room, or throughout the hotel, but there were a lot of American guests staying who I think would have higher expectations of hotel cooling, and I didn't here anyone else complaining, so it may be a problem with that room, specifically.
