I accidentally left an expensive bottle of perfume in the dressing table near the kettle after checking out. I contacted reception as soon as I realised and asked them to keep it safe until I returned to collect my luggage. However, when I came back, I was told that nothing had been found. I am 100% certain I left it in the room, so this experience has been very disappointing. It raises serious concerns about the conduct of the staff responsible for clearing the room and the handling of guests' belongings. I expected a higher standard of honesty and care.

I chose Hôtel Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacré-Cœur primarily because it was conveniently located near my client's office, and the location proved to be an excellent choice. The overall stay was comfortable, and I did not face any major issues during my visit. The room size was adequate and did not feel cramped. Housekeeping did an excellent job, as the room was cleaned thoroughly every day. There are, however, a few areas where I believe the guest experience could be further improved: The room did not include basic amenities such as shampoo, a dental kit, mouthwash, or moisturizer. While the staff promptly provided moisturizer upon request, it would be more convenient if at least some of these essentials were readily available in the room. I appreciate the hotel's environmental initiative of providing a reusable water jug instead of bottled water. However, for international travellers, especially those arriving after a long journey, complimentary bottled water would be a welcome convenience, at least on the first day. All the power outlets were European-style sockets. Although the reception was helpful in providing me with a travel adapter, many international guests may not be aware of this requirement. Including at least one USB-A or USB-C charging port in the room would be a valuable addition. As an Accor Explorer member, I was grateful to receive an early check-in. If room availability permits, a complimentary room upgrade would further enhance the experience and strengthen the value of the membership. The bathroom included a bathtub, but there was no drainage in the surrounding floor area. As a result, water often spilled onto the dry area after a shower and remained there until housekeeping arrived the next day, making the bathroom less convenient to use. My most important feedback relates to the breakfast. As a pure vegetarian, I found the available options to be extremely limited. Apart from fruits and bread, there were very few suitable choices. Considering that Mercure welcomes guests from around the world, it would be greatly appreciated if the breakfast buffet included a wider selection of vegetarian options, such as vegetarian hot dishes, egg-free pastries, sandwiches, or other clearly labelled vegetarian items. This would significantly improve the experience for vegetarian travellers. Overall, I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The hotel's location, cleanliness, and helpful staff made my visit enjoyable, especially as it was conveniently located near my client's office. While there are a few areas that could be improved, particularly the availability of vegetarian breakfast options and certain in-room amenities, my overall experience was positive. On my next visit to Paris, I would like to explore a few other hotels to compare the overall experience, amenities, and services. That said, I would certainly consider returning to Mercure in the future, especially if some of these enhancements are implemented.
