Staff and room were fantastic. We stayed on the 7th floor and had great views of the city. Room was well maintained and clean with black curtains which helped for sleep. Would love to come back in the future!

Our Privilege room was poorly designed. It appears that the toilet cistern unit had been replaced at some point and the current one is mounted so far forward in the separate WC room that the room is extremely cramped for space. Room number is 947. Each time we returned to the room after it had been serviced earlier in the day, there was a horrible drainage smell which only cleared by keeping the windows open all night with the noise that this entailed. On arrival the reception staff were not helpful and didn't take a preauthorisation charge on my credit card despite being asked specifically to do this. Later in the day I attempted to charge something to my room and was unable to do so. I then asked the same staff at reception to again take a preauthorisation charge on my credit card and this time they rudely told me that my Amex has been declined for this. I checked with Amex and no such request had taken place and therefore had not been declined. This is not the first time that Mercure/Accor hotels have struggled taking preauthorisation charges on Amex but the staff never admit that the hotel system is at fault not Amex or my card. The reception staff behaved as if I were an inconvenience to them and at no point respected me as a regular Accor account holder. Later in our stay different reception staff were very attentive and helpful.

We had been staying at the hotel since April 3rd, but had to check out early on April 5th — two days ahead of our original schedule — because my father-in-law required urgent heart surgery. We immediately contacted the property and the booking platform to request a refund for the unused portion of the room fee and breakfast, yet the hotel has not provided any response since. This made for a very disappointing experience.
