This is a standard Mercure hotel in Montmartre. The staff were reasonably professional, and the room is dated but functional and clean with a comfortable bed and we had an exceptional amount of space in the room for a Parisian hotel. We had great service in the bar with good drinks. There was construction occurring in the Ibis next door, and our room was literally the last one on the hallway, right against the construction. Thankfully we would mostly be out during construction works, but we definitely noticed it and chose not to stay in the room as much as possible. A request to be moved was rebuffed by reception, and we decided not to argue it. Not somewhere I would rush to stay again.

Despite its location on a busy road and its use by several touring parties, the hotel was nevertheless fairly peaceful and there was no intrusive noise from either fellow guests or passing traffic to interfere with our sleep. Check-in was speedy with the member of staff able to deal with my poor attempts to speak the little French remembered from my schooling some 60 years ago. The room was spacious, with adequate space to store 5 days clothing, the separate bathroom and toilet facilities were clean and the curtains completely blocked incoming light thereby contributing to good sleep. Located within 5 minutes stroll from the Rue Caulaincourt entrance to Place de Clichy Metro, providing easy access to the rest of Paris, and on the edge of the many points of interest around Montmartre, the hotel is a excellent starting point for exploration. Having previously visited Paris more than 30 times but still hoping to return, I would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel once again.
