I stayed for a week with my family, including a small child who had very specific dietary needs. The staff at Sofitel genuinely were as much of a highlight as the last minute tickets to Sagrada Familia Misha, one of the concierge, were able to get us. Hallar was another concierge, and every morning she made me feel like I was a wanted, valued member of a family. Olga at reception always made time for us and came to say hello to the baby. She went out of her way to look up things we might need. She and Adil, one of the restaurant managers, could not be stumped when it came to our needs. In fact, on more than one occasion she saw one of our cohort of family members coming and organized an extra chair be brought over to our table before we even needed to ask for it. Adil made every visit to the restaurant special, and his restaurant and bar staff were extremely flexible and accommodating, but also maintained a tight ship such that no guest was made to feel uncomfortable by others. There was a guest the came down to breakfast VERY under-dressed, and Adil sorted it out so quietly and politely that my mom wasn't even done commenting on how strange it was to see her in the elevator before she was leaving. She didn't look upset, either, so I know Adil must have managed it with incredible tact. And then there was the entering and leaving. Genis outside always equipped me with an umbrella and a Spanish lesson. He seemed to have endless patience for me wanting to practice with him. Poor Hallar and Misha also ran to the back room more than once to get me an umbrella. And Irene, so accommodating when I wanted to do uncommon activities! That And the room was always so clean! Our cleaning staff paid attention to seemingly every detail, even going so far as to daily remove fingerprints from the flush button in the bathroom. The staff made the experience. And the restaurant food was excellent! Truly, I will be actively choosing Sofitels in the future after this experience. It was great.
