worst stay never return

hotel looks great from the outside, inside its very tired and needs a lot of repair and maintenance. once again only one elevator working so caused a lot of inconvenience. Dining at the hotel was almost impossible (so went out), breakfast was a completely shambolic and very badly organized. Hotel was very noisy with lots of very small children running amok

It’s a bit dated, very very noisy and chaotic and probably slightly over priced

Our stay was very enjoyable apart from the issue of trying to make a booking for dinner at Embers Restaurant online. When I requested a 7pm booking earlier in the day it responded that I had been on a waiting list and would hear back later. This gave me the impression that the restaurant was fully booked and that the booking would depend on someone canceling. I was surprised that the restaurant would be full on a Sunday night, but still having heard nothing by late afternoon I was tempted to book a restaurant elsewhere. However we preferred not to go our so were resigning ourselves to eating in the snack bar when at last an email arrived at 5:59pm confirming a booking for 6:30-6:45 (not the 7pm that I’d requested). Anyway we did eventually dine at Embers, with a relatively small number of other patrons. I wonder whether other patrons had decided to go elsewhere as a result of this unsatisfactory booking process?
