Resort is in dire need of renovation/maintenance. Lifts, rooms, bathrooms, balconies all dirty and substandard condition. Reception informed me that the site became a hotel in 1989. It is clear nothing has been renovated since. Very disappointed.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Dane's room should be more brightly lit. It was a shame that the magic kingdom play area was in such disarray. The arcade games and pool were great. Would be even better if there was a shallow wading area for little kids indoors. Breakfast buffet was good. Azzuro Trattoria food was overpriced with the decor and service being subpar (not enough staff).

The Fairmont has a long tradition as one of the great hotels in the Blue Mountains. The building is impressive with plenty of space for families or couples to go for a swim, play tennis or golf, explore the spa or walk through the grounds. The rooms are spacious, clean and retain that old world charm you would expect. Both the breakfast area and the restaurant have gret valley views, perfect for dinner. There is plenty of choice on the menu for breakfast and dinner. Check in was easy, the upgrade to a spa room on the top floor very much appreciated, as was the welcome gift. All the people we touched were friendly and attentive and very engaged. A great experience created by such a young crew. we certainly enjoyed our stay

Disappointing Fairmont experience

We have stayed in many Fairmont properties around the world and have always expected a high level of quality from them. Sadly, this property was anything but. The decor was tired and old, the staff well the ones you could find couldn't be bothered helping. The bar staff couldn't figure out what was a beer or a cider. The meal in the the ONLY restaurant that was open took 1.5 hrs. to come and then they put the wrong tables bill onto our room account. The hotel shop and whiskey bar were all closed and only open on the weekends. If you also staying here to be able to see the Blue Mountains from your room, best you ask before arriving as there are only a very small number of rooms that actually have a view. For the cost per night, I would save your money and go anywhere but here.
