Great location but staff struggled with some requests as English wasn’t their 1st language. No exhaust fans in the bathroom and water went all over the floor in the shower, which wet most of the bathroom floor

Our room was surprisingly dirty. The wall where the bin was next to the mini bar had sticky red stuff on it which I assumed was food which hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom seemed pretty dirty; I don't think the fan was working and it had a bunch of dust/mold on it, the drawers in the bathroom were very dusty and clearly hadn't been wiped down, and the grout in the shower corners was dirty + the hinges on the bathroom door were rusted. Overall in a lot of places you looked something was either dusty / dirty and it seemed as though the room had not been cleaned at all. Otherwise there were inconvenient things about the room like I was not able to cast anything to the TV and couldn't change the input to plug in a HDMI cable to watch something from my laptop. The fan in the room was pretty loud too even on a low setting. On a positive note the size of the double beds in the Standard Twin Room and the TV size in the room were good.

Stay was good overall but not great, I stay at Novotel often as it is always clean and well maintained, however on this occasion the shower tile grout was mouldy in multiple places, the fan in the bathroom was covered in dust and the air con vents had not been cleaned and smelled mouldy. The mini bar was not fully stocked with the items that the list said we're available. Was a little disappointed with the stay at this particular Novotel. The wifi details were not given to us and when I tried to call reception from the room there was no answer. When paying high tier prices for a stay I expect at least a clean shower and bathroom, however was not satisfied. I even went to the degree of telling my daughter not to sit down in the shower to wash her feet like she normally would as it was not clean.
