The hotel is in a great position, just down from Wynyard station, tram stop out front a. a short walk to Circular Quay, Barangaroo, a. main shopping area. The staff were amazing, especially Andrea on reception. The first room we were allocated had a strong smell, I thought it was smoke but I think it was probably a musty smell being an old building. Andrea found us another room, still a slight smell but not as bad, no other rooms were available so we stuck with it a. opened the balcony door a. windows to air it out. A bottle of wine a. chocolates were delivered later for our inconvenience which was unexpected a. appreciated. The Executive rooms need a bit of love, the shower is very difficult to get into so if you need a walk in shower make sure you check before booking. The one bedroom executive rooms have a seperate room lounge area with a pullout bed a. full kitchen which would be great for families. The pool area is quite exposed, no cover as shown in hotel photos, gym is small but adequate, the whole area a. stairwell is a little unkept but functional. Not a huge menu for breakfast but food a. coffee were good.

Studio room was a good option for us as a couple. Two issues detracted from our 3 night stay. First was lots of noise from a club or bar next door that went on till early morning and made sleep difficult. Mentioned to reception who were aware but could not offer a better room. This would unfortunately be a show stopper for future visits. Second issue was hot water temperature in the shower most days. It was not cold, but never really hot. Weirdly, basin hot water was super hot.
