Unfortunately, the overall vibe of the hotel felt cold and unwelcoming from start to finish. After arriving, we accessed the residential side of the hotel via the lift from our room, only to be abruptly told off by the owners. It was later acknowledged that there are, in fact, two sides to the recreation and pool areas — something that was never clearly explained, leading to unnecessary confusion. The pool area itself was nice and offered a spectacular view; however, it was extremely overcrowded, resulting in murky water, which took away from the experience. We had booked two rooms and had been approved for a late checkout. Despite this, the following morning we were rudely informed that one room did not have late checkout approval, and staff entered the room unexpectedly. This highlighted a clear lack of communication between staff members. The rooms were reasonably clean overall, however one bed had sheets that were clearly not clean, which was very concerning. Sadly, the friendliest and most welcoming staff member we encountered during our stay was the kind gentleman working as the front doorman late at night — a standout in an otherwise underwhelming service experience

The Sebel Quay West was perfectly located with a quick walk to Circulary Quay. It took us a few days to work out that if we changed elevator at the lobby we could exit the building on Harrington Street, avoiding one of two steep walks down to George street Our apartment was well appointed with a full kitchen, including a pod coffee machine and a laundry but it was a little dated. The staff were perfectly superb helping us with everything from directions, storing luggage and even accepting our Woolworths order and putting the groceries away before our arrival
