During my stay at the Mercure Hotel, I had several unpleasant interactions with the same male staff member working at reception during the night shift. On one occasion, I went downstairs to collect an Uber Eats delivery. When I politely asked him where the delivery had been left, he did not respond verbally at all. Instead, with an unfriendly expression, he simply pointed towards the location in what felt like a dismissive and almost commanding manner. I found this extremely rude and unwelcoming, particularly for someone working at the front desk of a hotel. There was another incident involving an umbrella, when he repeatedly insisted that I show my room key card before assisting me. I completely understand that a hotel may need to verify whether someone is a registered guest, and I have no issue with reasonable security procedures. However, it was the manner in which he communicated and handled the situation that made me uncomfortable. His approach felt unnecessarily confrontational and lacked the basic courtesy I would expect from hotel reception staff. I also noticed that while stationed at reception, he spent a considerable amount of time chatting with a female colleague. Combined with the dismissive way he interacted with me when I actually needed assistance, this gave me the impression that he was not particularly attentive or professional in carrying out his front-desk responsibilities. To be clear, my complaint is not about being asked to follow hotel procedures. It is about the attitude and level of service displayed by this particular staff member. On more than one occasion, his manner came across as dismissive, unfriendly and disrespectful. I raised my concerns with reception during my stay because I believe guests should at least be treated with basic courtesy when approaching the front desk for assistance. Unfortunately, these interactions left a very negative impression and affected my overall experience at the hotel.

We enjoyed our first stay at the Mercure Melbourne Latrobe st. We were very impressed with Suite 1603, the only Superior Suite. There was plenty of space, the views of Flagstaff gardens and the city were sensational. It's a brand new hotel so it looks lovely and is very modern and well appointed. My only criticism would be rhe big rug in the middle of the lounge area was a bit of a tripping hazard and seeing as the carpet is new, I'm not sure it adds anything to the space. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Location is great, rooms clean, check in staff friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast leaves a bit to be desired. Average food, average assortment/ variety eg: one cheese, one cold meat, staff not overly friendly, plates not cleared quickly so a lot of empty tables with dirty plates, dishes on the buffet not topped up in a timely fashion. Buffet would be a nightmare for anyone with an allergy- pastries with nuts and shared utensils, butters, jams, peanut butters, even sugar, all dished into bowls and not individual closed samples, so unhygienic as well. People touching loaves of bread to cut themselves, buttering their toast with a knife then putting it back in the butter. Lamingtons were put out frozen! Fruits cut up often didn’t appear fresh, Bircher muesli was dry. At $38 per head this was really not value for money. Let’s the hotel down sadly….

very good location. the tram stop is just right outside of the hotel. i like the water refilling station at the lobby as well. it has sparking water. i also like the view from where i was stayed, level 14. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Had a short stay, hotel is located walking distance to nice restaurants, shops, Dockland harbour. Staffs friendly, check in check out were smooth. We had our hot Buffett breakfast, foods were great but would be great with more selections. Will be back again, parking is pretty expensive, fews parking building do cheaper rates if you don’t mind walk for a bit.
