I specifically chose your hotel based on the advertised room amenities on your website, which included a DVD player, as well as the expectation of professional customer service. Unfortunately, the advertised DVD player was not available in our room upon arrival. As my three friends and I had brought DVDs specifically to watch during our stay, this missing amenity significantly impacted our experience. I attempted to resolve the issue with hotel staff; however, the matter was handled poorly and required approximately 55 minutes of my time, including four separate trips to the lobby. The sequence of events was as follows: - My initial enquiry at reception did not resolve the issue and was sent away to double check the DVD player was missing. - On my second visit back to the lobby, I was assured that a DVD player would be located and delivered to the room. - Staff subsequently delivered a CD player, which was clearly not suitable for playing DVDs on the TV. - I returned to reception a third time to request either a room with the advertised amenity or alternative compensation. I was advised that staff would contact me when they found a replacement DVD player. After receiving no update, I attempted to contact reception by phone. The call centre advised that reception staff were "busy" and unable to take my call. When I subsequently returned to reception, I observed staff at the desk who did not appear to be attending to guest enquiries but instead watching YouTube videos. I have attached a photograph taken at the time. When I finally spoke with the staff member on duty, I was informed that no DVD player could be located and no room change was available, which I wasn’t informed of by the staff member on duty via a phone call as promised, hence my fourth trip to the lobby!! I was then offered an alcoholic beverage as compensation. Given that it was approximately 11:30pm and the issue had been ongoing for nearly an hour, this did not adequately address the inconvenience caused and was rather inappropriate. The staff member advised that the hotel manager would discuss compensation with me the following morning. Upon checking out at approximately 9:35 am on 15 June, I spoke with the manager, who apologised and advised that I would be contacted by Wednesday the 17th of June regarding appropriate compensation for the missing advertised amenity and the poor handling of the matter. As of today, 22nd of June, I have not received any communication from the hotel and have been required to follow up myself. I am disappointed by: 1. The apparent misrepresentation of room amenities on your website. 2. The significant amount of time spent attempting to resolve the issue. 3. The poor communication and customer service received from staff. 4. The failure to follow through on the manager's commitment to contact me.

The hotel is not good enough and has a number of issues to sort out if it wants continuing business, as follows The entrance way is awkward and very exposed to strong wind. On the walk up to the entrance way there is a raised piece of metal which I noticed a number of people tripped over - this is a significant injury issue. On entry the staff are sitting below the customer avoiding eye contact, although helpful they were not in problem solving mode. The staff running the breakfast area were unnecessarily brusque when questioning people entering the food area, this was because it was not obvious how you registered. The breakfast on offer was substantially below the standard required of a low range motel let alone an upper level hotel. There was little fresh fruit (cutting up cheap melons doesn't cut it), powdered scrambled eggs are not acceptable, cheap low quality bread and no sourdough, no bircher muesli or similar - the list just goes on... The door to my room was so badly stuck I had to shoulder charge it every time I wanted to enter the room. I discussed this with the maintenance guy but he said they are all like it which proved to be true. This is a fire hazard - add some heat and you will not be able to open these doors. Most of the time during our stay only one lift worked although the staff didn't think they needed to let guests know about this. This was not helped by the lighting be so poor it was hard to spot the other lift There was no plug for the sink in the bathroom - not sure how you are supposed to wet shave with that. The bed had clearly seen better days and I am picking it came from another property before landing up in this hotel. There is more but I have run out of energy and time - good luck with the enterprise!
