Mövenpick Hotel in Melbourne is a fantastic choice for families. The highlight for us was the kid-friendly amenities – the pool is perfect for a splash around, and the sauna is a nice spot for parents to unwind while the kids are entertained. An extra treat is the free ice cream offered to kids, which they absolutely loved! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are welcoming and accommodating. The location is also great, with plenty of attractions nearby. A perfect base for a family stay in Melbourne!

Well located, good stay but improvements can be made

Stayed one night for business - came in early and was told room was not yet available (not an issue, had anticipated this). Was told that someone would call as soon as the room was available - this did not happen; I waited until the evening and when arrived, was told the room had been available earlier. It highlights one of the fundamental problem with hotels in Australia - the customer service. If you say you're going to do something, please ensure it is done. Not just lip service. Room was standard and clean. Towels were a little small and thin. Pillows needed to be changed (had an unpleasant odour). Amenities were minimal (but you could ask for things like toothbrush if you need one). Welcome gift were two chocolate bars. Fairly reasonable sound proofing - was nervous about this due to its close proximity to Southern Cross Station; curtains were heavy and thick - likely helped with sound proofing). Didn't try the restaurant for main meals (food was way too overpriced compared to similar fare that you could get just a short walk from the hotel). Breakfast (included in stay) spread was reasonable. Kudos to the two wait staff; they were very friendly and attentive to all guests needs. All in all, if you prioritise location and a no frills accommodation, this would suit you. However, don't think this is of the level of the "premium" Accor range - more akin to the mid-range Accor range.
